OT: My Cool Story Bro (M Fans Everywhere)
On my way to Atlanta Monday, I stopped to eat at a local diner in Knoxville. The local Knoxville television station was there doing a news piece because it was a new restaurant.
The reporter was a big Michigan fan as he lived in Detriot while growing up. So he asked me if he could interview me. I told him yes as long as he could get The Victors edited into the video, which he agreed. This was shown on the 6pm and 11pm newscast and according to some local people there, it was a big hit.
That's pretty damn cool they agreed to put the fight song on the video.. MGoSoftball's a guy?
Very, very awesome MgoSoftball and congrats.
Yes he is a guy and is happily married. I had the good pleasure of spending an afternoon with him and his lovely wife last year New Year's before the Sugar Bowl watching football games, eating food that was very bad for us and drinking beer!
And what did your wife do with the very bad food? Did she join in, or stick with the stuff that was healthy?
She had some. The difference Steven is that she'll eat a small amount of bad food and then run twice as long the next day to burn it off.
I eat until I'm physically ill and then take a nap.
Can you describe in great detail exactly how your wife ate the bad food? What she was wearing when she ate it? Etc.
I always assumed that MGoSoftball was a girl also. Gender stereotyping and all. Educated.
That video was amazing. It just sits that on the Block M and played the fight song - sort of out of nowhere! Loved it.
I'm a UM alum (x3) living in Knoxville. I didn't see the live broadcast, but glad to see it replayed on the Web. I doubt the reporter has ever admitted his Michigan fan-dom on air . . . there is a strong resentment down here (related in part to sour grapes over the Woodson heisman over Peyton Manning in 1997). Terry Fair - former UT player and Detroit Lion - was a radio host on local sports-talk here (until he took a staff position on the UT football team). He would occasionally talk about being a Lion's fan (as they gave him his first shot in the NFL), but was a UM hater.
At first I thought you were old lady pie maker. Good thing I kept watching.
That's pretty awesome! For my own little cool story bro from this past weekend, some friends and I went out to lunch before the game on Saturday in Atlanta and met Denard and talked with him for awhile. He had just flown in and told us about how he had to fly back after the game Monday night (if we won) to throw the first pitch at the tiger's game on tuesday. He was really cool and down to earth and it was like just like talking to another student at U of M.
Holy crap, it looked like she cut that piece with her teeth.
Way to represent MGoSoftball!
much as it were. So I did not get any pie. I will go back there soon and I will try the pie.
I am more excited to put a face to MGoSoftball. Tremendous. Indeed, very cool story bro

I have said on several occasions that I am a male softball coach in SE Michigan. I coached my daughter for years including her D1 Club Softball Team. I really enjoy coaching the young ladies. I am still a very active coach today. I coach an 18U Summer Tournament Team.
I got interested in M SB when a local girl was given a full-ride in 1984. She was the starting pitcher for 2 years and did very well. This was many, many years before the Internets so getting information was rather difficult. I usually called the AD for updates.
That is pretty great. Both on your part for insisting on the Victors, and the station's agreement to do so.

that he kept his word. He could have easily not done it and there is nothing I could do about it. Its nice to see people keep their word.....for once.
Is of the Block M on your shirt.
That's a pretty cool piece in general really, but that's awesome that they agreed to put "The Victors" in there for you. Excellent work, sir!
