Two 1000 yd rushers?
In a recent interview, someone asked RR if Minor could be a 1000 yd back this fall and RR answered something like "Id like to have 2... we've had 2 before"...
Which, of course...would be great...
q) for the historians here....Has Michigan ever had two 1000 yd rushers in the same season?

In 1975 Gordon Bell (1390) and Rob Lytle (1030) did.

I was trying to think of a season that this may have happened during. My first thought was 1994 when Wheatley got injured and Biakabutuka picked up the bulk of the carries from that point. Wheatley went for 1144 yards, but Biakabutuka only picked up 783 yards.
The next idea was 1990. Vaughn went for 1364, but Powers didn't make 1000.
My last though is that Boles and Hoard may have both gone over 1000 in 1988. Boles went for 1408. And i'm guessing that Hoard would have been close to 1000, but I can't seem to find his yards for that season.

Hoard went for 752.

The 1993 backfield was loaded. Wheatley, Biakabutuka, Ed Davis, etc...

Ricky Powers was OK

For Leroy(sp) "the Turtle" Hoard you count every yard as two. He was just that good.
Congrats to Mr. Stokes for taking 14 minutes to answer that question. Nice work. And a bonus because I want to do degrading nasty things to the chick in your avatar. I dont know if it is lust or loathe.

Hoard had 752 yards in 1988. Lol my friends hate this girl (Flo?) I thought she was just trying to be helpful like the gecko or the Allstate guy from 24.

If you're talking about the redhead, I agree completely. Howeva, if you're referring to the other one, seek help.

minor is obv first candidate, but who is 2nd? the way coach jackson talks about his running back corp i'm not certain any other back will get a significant number of carries to reach 1000 yards. drob perhaps?
in an oh-no-pls-don't-say-it's-so manner of thinking, the only way we get 2 1000 yard rushers is if minor gets hurt 2/3 of the way through the season and carlos has had a decent amount of carries up til the injury, and then gets the bulk of the carries for the remainder of the season.
i just see minor as back #1, with the other backs somewhat splitting the remainder of the carries.

has the talent to get 1000 and he is a senior.

I am assuming that the 2 RR had before were Slaton and White. Is he hoping one of the QB's gets 1000?

Woolfolk: 196 carries for 1042 yards
Edwards: 192 carries for 901 yards
Ricks: 167 carries for 850 yards
Not as impressive as some of those wishbone teams of the seventies or eighties, but still.
