Green Visits Georgia and Auburn

Submitted by CincyBlue on

Looks like 2013 RB Derrick Green visited Georgia on Friday and Auburn on Saturday.

He was quoted as saying his parents both got that feeling about Auburn again.  This is DG's second visit to Auburn.

There is a rumor Derrick could announce as early as this weekend as his team opens on ESPN.   There hasn't been any confirmation on that rumor as he keeps telling most reporters he plans on taking his officials.

I know a quick decision was good for the Maize and Blue but after his second visit to Auburn you have to wonder if they are now leading.

This is how I know we need the season to start. We worry too much about recruiting and whether or not some kid's parents were at a BBQ with him.

ARGH!! DAMN YOU OFFSEASON!!

Sorry to threadjack but I dont think this merits a separate thread...

Are there any "Inside Michigan Football" episodes this fall? If I remember correctly last fall camp there was an episode every week. MGoVideo/Jim Brandstatter where art thou?

I think it's pretty clear that the NCAA needs to turn one of the top recruits in the land into a Narc.

Send him to Auburn.  Send him to Bama.  Send him to LSU.  Gain some intel.  Go from there.

Not saying these schools are all involved in pay-for-play, but it would be interesting.

What would we all say if one of our players was paid?    I would like to point out, once again, that outside of UNC most players getting 'extra benefits' aren't getting them from the schools but rather agents, fans, and hangers-oners...

The problem is so much bigger than one or two 'cheatin' schools.

love,

Wouldn't surprise me at all to be honest.  Look at all the raging fanatics on twitter and such.  Is it really that far outside relevant thought to think one of those guys is going rogue and doing something stupid?  Not in the least.

Here's our reminder that regardless of what happens with Green, we're getting a really good back in DeVeon Smith.  The composite rankings (compiled by 24/7) have him as the country's #14 running back, #201 overall.  Shallman is rated highly as well (#240 overall), but I don't think any of the contributing services rate him as an RB.

Magnus's little tiff earlier in the thread .... made no sense here.

I would say that getting Green would be a nice salve for the loss of Isaac and Dunn.

I know I'm viewing this with Michigan-tinted lenses, but I just don't know how anyone can compare Hoke and Chizik and have Gene come out on top.  Chizik is one of those coaches who I absolutely have no regard for.  Other than Cam Newton's one magical season, he has done virtually nothing as a head coach, especially in light of all the talent he still pulls in.
