question for those there last year: If they just had one last year, will there be much there this year? I'd like to drive up from Illinois, but if there won't be as much, I'm wondering if it is worth the time.
Awesome, I'm going to get there super early in hopes of finally getting Denard's autograph. Also very happy they decided to move them to seperate days this time, as I really wanted to go to the garage sale, too.
I went last year and the jerseys were all Nike jerseys, so they will probably have Adidas stuff now. I recommend getting there real late.
Not at all
/s (better?)
In all seriousness, if there's something you specifically want, get there early. It will get very crowded and the lines are pretty nuts.
I've never been to the athletic dept. sale before; how early do I realistically need to be there ? I don't have anything specific in mind, but I live in Columbus so my standards for memorabilia are probably low. If I could get a helmet, it'd make my year. Guessing that's unlikley to happen.
Is this like black friday where people will be camped out in tents days ahead of time, or more like 'show up at 6am'?
I may be able to swing driving up the night before, if its warranted.
Thoughts?
If you specifically want a certain player's jersey, or something along those lines, try to get there when it opens. If you just want some memorabilia, you can come later. I came late last year and there still were some jerseys for sale, so it wasn't picked totally clean.
I love the garage sale. I drove over 500 miles to Ann Arbor last year and snagged myself 2 jockstraps and a mouthpiece for under 10 bucks. That's some serious savings.
Not only did you get some serious savings, but what about all that DNA you got?
I got an unworn (no idea why) pair of awesome soccer cleats for $15. Looked them up on Amazon, theyre about $150 new iirc. Pretty crazy.
Were they the F50s? If so, I am jealous.
You don't mix up where both of those things are supposed to go.
even if you can't be an athlete, you can always be an athletic supporter.
Keep it a secret so that I can get all the good stuff.
How are the prices on jerseys and things?
Game Jerseys last year ran 50 bucks... Practice Jerseys ran I think 30-35 Bucks...The real deal to me was the team T shirts tho, All Adidas, All Sizes 5 bucks for each. I got like 4 pairs of Cutter football gloves for like 5 bucks each as well. I will be checking it out again for sure
My buddy picked up a sick David Moosman game jersey last year for $50. Will definitely be going this year
I'm so excited for this, I descovered the "garage sale" last november and have been waiting till today to hear when it'd be! Soooo excited!

I know this is a little bit of a 'cool story bro', but its related to the garage sale...
Last week I was the first in line at the Blue Jacket's all star game puck giveaway to get Jack Johnson's autograph. There was another michigan fan in line right behind me and we got to talking about this upcoming season.
He claimed to work part time for MGoBlue.com, but his information has been so off, that I am now confident he was just full of hot air.
Amongst the ridiculous things he told me:
1. Garage sale for hockey team already happened and they sold all of the football stuff there, so they woudln't be having a football sale this year (obviously false)
2. Stonum was practicing with the team, and was likely to be a starter
3. Gardner was throwing better than Robinson...
Why someone would pretend to have inside information to a random stranger in an autograph line makes no sense to me. I'm just glad he was wrong about the sale. I'll be driving up for it...
