Kevin Grady Sr. indicted for real estate fraud
A lot of people on the west side suspected bad stuff but this is not good and makes me sort of sad for the Grady family.

That's more than creepy. I like it!
what is that?
Naturally
Believe it or not, this is exactly what I expected to see when I opened this thread.
It's widely believed in West Michigan that a lot of funny business has happened to get great inner city athletes to East Grand Rapids, a very well off community. If you need an east side comparison, it's our Gross Pointe or Birmingham.
And these charges on Grady are what they are. I just don't know that the the two types of malfeasance are connected in any other way than being committed by the same individual, who just has a lower threshold of what is considered ethical behavior.
And I'm a real estate professional in Grand Rapids, so it should be interesting to see what happens here.
I used to play against EGR, they were my school's biggest rival.
I remember throughout my HS career there were always rumors that Grady Sr. was selling houses to football/basketball families so EGR could bring them in and dominate.
Kevin and Kelvin were good guys though, hate to see that happen.
Grady's alleged transgressions, while clearly wrong, pale in comparison to what Wall Street and the politicians in D.C. practice with regularity.

Clearly fraud. However, it was rampant across the state, and that's not to downplay what he did either. There was major money being loaned by the big companies in schemes exactly like this, which led to what we're dealing with now. From the sound of things, Grady was on the low end of the fraud.
