Scoreboard Update
New video is up on MGoBlue.com updating the work on Crisler, Yost and Michigan Stadium. It's going to look nice kids!
Your thoughts?
There goes my day, I'm watching this for the rest of the day.
EDIT: Darn, I was hoping for a live feed to watch construction workers...back to work.
A quick summary of the timelilne for those who can't access the video:
- Yost: board is supposed to be hung by the end of this week; testing will begin next week
- Michigan Stadium: scoreboards are scheduled to be installed by the beginning of August; also, steel will be going up over the next couple of weeks that will show the outline of the board
- Crisler: no date given, but its scoreboard will be the last installed
for the summary.
If you check out the "Paws for a Cause" link on the same page, Troy Woolfolk talks about spring practice and this summer's prep. He says he's in the best shape he's ever been in and has gotten his speed and acceleration back, which is great news. He also likes animals.
Beavers, per chance?
I was expecting something more scoreboard-y, and they just had the six posts up. Yeah TV guy, I realize that's important, but dang, that was a bit of a letdown.
So from the shots of crisler, are they putting new seats in this summer? What renovations are set to be done by next season?
The first phase of the renovation includes some infrastructure work, plus new seats, and it will be finished by the beginning of the 2011-12 season.
I couldn't find this online and don't feel like making another thread, does anyone know when countdown to kickoff starts?
http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/there-are-205
Kickoff at 3:30.
I meant the mgoblue.com countdown to kickoff videos that they play every day.
Those always start 30 days out.
Thanks
When will they be done? If only we had some large, easy-to-read electronic display that could count down time! Then we'd know.
done in "early August" Steel start going up next week. Yipeeeeeeee.
Construction updates each week on MGoBlue.com. Yipeee.
versus having the expectation of winning."-Troy Woolfork I'm fired up man. Glad MGoBlue put up more football videos. It felt like forever after the spring game.
Latest photo of Yost scoreboard posted by Michigan Hockey:
anyone else notice that block M on the website next to the video is of the forbidden variety with "Michigan" through it?
I never have liked that logo, there's just something about it. It seems like that is a pretty prevalent logo to throw on hats too, which has been the cause of plenty future purchases only to get set down when I see that logo on the back.
At this point, it is just six supports X 2 at the Big House. I wonder if they will provide a vid cam feed so we can watch the scoreboards go up. I am still trying to figure out how a grown man can sit at a desk and waste hours watching a scoreboard being taken down,
On another Michigan Stadium–related note, Michigan International Speedway no longer has a larger seating capacity than the Big House, according to a Jackson Citizen Patriot article:
The removal of some of the grandstands has opened up area between turns 3 and 4 and reflects the drop in ticket demand during the past decade.
The elimination of the grandstands has reduced the seating capacity of MIS by about 14,000. The capacity of the grandstand is now listed by the speedway at 106,000 seats for the 2011 season.
The speedway listed a seating capacity as high as 137,243 grandstand seats for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. This year marks the first time since 1997 that MIS does not have a seating capacity larger than that of the University of Michigan football team’s Michigan Stadium, which has a capacity of 109,901.
I just watched the video of the "Women's Football Academy" and I'm really happy I got to see an old lady run through a wall of dongs. That piece of equipment needs a remodel. Other than that, it was a good watch!
*dong forest

Does this make you hard up? ;)
Only for old ladies with more agility than that old bat!
You forgot the "Go Wolverines" line on the bottom of the board. ::snicker::
When did WMU change their colors to orange/white/blue ?
*snicker*
That scoreboard better read a lot more than 21-3 in the 3rd.
Shaw just scored a touchdown so it will go to 27-3 when the scoreboard operator changes it in a few seconds.
It's also early in the third quarter (9:24), so there's a lot of game left. Four TDs in the first 36 minutes of the game isn't bad.
