"Coach Mattison told me what the Ravens were about, what he thought," Beyer said. "He definitely encouraged me. I hold his opinion in high regard."
Hey guys I just got off the phone with Jordan Payton, who informed me of the following:
He is still committed to Cal, but is looking around. The schools he is considering are Cal, UCLA, UW and Michigan. Michigan coaches will be in on Thursday for an in-home visit. They told him they were taking 3 WRs and that they want him on board. He said he loves Michigan but has to figure things out with his family. I asked him why he didn't have a Michigan hat on the table at the Army AA game and he said not to read into that at all because besides Cal, the other two hats were chosen at random. I feel like this is a Buckle Up situation.
EDIT: Jordan said he'd call me after the coaches visit on Thursday to let me know where he stands. As I posted below, based on the conversation, I feel like Michigan's chances are legitimate.
I know it's been a foregone conclusion for a while, but according to TomVH, Jordan Payton has committed to Cal.
I decided to compile a chart listing when all of our recruits plan on making their decisions. Here it is:
|Jehu Chesson||December 21st or 22nd|
|Jordan Diamond||February (National Signing Day)|
|Bri'onte Dunn||By the end of December (Early Enrollee)|
|Joshua Garnett||January 25th or 26th|
|Zach Banner||January 14th|
|Jordan Payton||Unknown. Visiting Cal on December 9th. Likely to take his time making a decision.|
|Darius Powe||January 5th at the Under Armour All-American game.|
|Yuri Wright||January 7th at U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Note: Decision date may be moved back. Tentative official visit to Michigan scheduled on January 13th. (Thanks, Waggles)|
|Monty Madaris||Unknown. Taking official to Michigan in early January, decision likely sometime after that.|
|Taylor McNamara||Late December or early January. Possibly January 7th at the U.S. Army All American Bowl.|
|Alex Kozan||By the end of December.|
All dates reflect what the recruit has most recently stated, to the best of my knowledge.
Per Magnuson's Twitter? is this a joke?
[Ed-Ace: Yes, this is a joke, or at least Payton is just throwing a teaser out there—he tweeted "I'm officially a..." and then nothing else—and Magnuson chimed in with his preference.]
