Jordan Payton Update

Hey guys I just got off the phone with Jordan Payton, who informed me of the following: 

He is still committed to Cal, but is looking around. The schools he is considering are Cal, UCLA, UW and Michigan. Michigan coaches will be in on Thursday for an in-home visit. They told him they were taking 3 WRs and that they want him on board. He said he loves Michigan but has to figure things out with his family. I asked him why he didn't have a Michigan hat on the table at the Army AA game and he said not to read into that at all because besides Cal, the other two hats were chosen at random. I feel like this is a Buckle Up situation. 

EDIT: Jordan said he'd call me after the coaches visit on Thursday to let me know where he stands. As I posted below, based on the conversation, I feel like Michigan's chances are legitimate.

All this says is that they still want 28 and aren't confident with 4 other guys. I still like our chances with Garnett, Grant, and Reeves. The coaches just want 1 more.

They clearly want Payton and have for a while. If theyre recruiting him it would make sense that they say they want 3WRs, even if they are just looking for the best talent available.

The consensus up to now has been that Michigan would only take 2 WR's in this class.  Has it suddenly changed for a reason, or have the coaches always wanted to take 3?   We'll see.

Yeah I see your angle and have to agree. This reminds me a lot of Dillion Baxter. I think they both liked Michigan maybe even more so then the school they end up choosing due to not wanting to leave the West Coast.

So he choose to not put the michigan hat on the table or did the Rivals basicly tell him what other hats had to be put up there?

I would take him if he wanted to come to michigan but it really seems like he wants to stay on the west coast.

Either way good luck and best wishes on wherever he ends up for the the next 4 yrs.

Well, I won't go down that road again. The difference this time is that I talked directly to Jordan and didn't hear this from a second hand source. Either way, I apologized for the Arnett situation because if I revealed who the original source was, you'd understand why I was confident in it. Oh well.

the info and interviews are obviously appreciated.  Impossible to be 100% correct in this arena.

I know who his source was and I would have trusted him also. Sources can be incorrect anyone who followed the Gunner Keil situation today knows that.

But seriously, adding the likes of Payton, along with Darboh....I'd be feeling pretty good about that.

In all seriousness, who are you and how do you get the scoop so fast? How do you get in touch with the recruits so fast, build rapport in the recruiting circles so quickly, etc? I'm genuinely curious. Are you trying to make it in the recruiting biz full-time?

I would be interested in hearing more about you, your background, why you're interested in recruiting stuff. Seriously.
