Niko Porikos grew up in an NTDP billet home. Cool story.
Probably everybody who is still interested in the NBA listens to Zach Lowe's podcasts, but for those who don't here is a great interview with Stan Van Gundy.
Key issues that SVG discusses:
1) Insight into the non-signing of Greg Monroe
2) Defensive switching on pick and rolls
3) Orlando vs. Detroit for attracting free agents
4) "Form a fucking wall!"
4a) "trying to be less controversial. . ."
Very interesting tidbit dropped by Sam Webb on WTKA this morning. Webb assumed like almost everyone else that with Ibi Watson in the fold the coaches would only be looking at PGs in the 2016 class. However, Sam said he looked into that and Michigan is apparently still pursuing wings for the 2016 class. And it doesn't sound like they're pursuing wings in case they whiff on their PG options or someone drops out of the 2016 class. He seemed to indicate that Michigan appears willing to take both another wing and a PG in the class.
Free agent Glenn Robinson III reached agreement on a three-year deal with the Pacers according to Yahoo! Sports. The second-year player appeared in 35 games for the 76ers and Timberwolves last season.
Great guy. Geaux Bleu!
Caris Levert at #9 to Charlotte.
Zak Irvin at #29 to Atlanta.
If that happens, then that probably means we had a really good season. Zak looked like he was putting it all together towards the end of last year. Let's hope he can continue using all his tools and working on the chemistry with LeVert, Walton, Doyle and Chatman. I'm looking for Chatman or Wilson to step up big this year as well!
