FWIW, I would love to see a more in depth chart like basketball breakdowns have. I hope that my post isn’t taken as complaining. I look forward to that chart every week to see how Seth has ranked the other team along with ours. I think it’s EA sports NCAA football ingrained in me to see who has earned the ⭐️  player threshold. Maybe I’m just weird?

I felt that it was…

I felt that it was dominating the discussion on that post. The post really had nothing to do with Cyan Cade. Therefore, I felt it would be productive to create a separate space where people could talk about it. Maybe, I should create a Cyan Cade blog?

Point Taken. I am unworthy ?

Point Taken. I am unworthy ?

Water is wet, I get it. But…

Water is wet, I get it. But there was legitimate discussion on what “trouble spot” meant.

Honest question, what…

Honest question, what deserves a thread here? ?

I agree in the fact that it…

I agree in the fact that it doesn’t make sense to run a read option play with out a read attached. There were a few that Cade obviously had a read attached and missed. Regardless, it’s probably bad coaching decisions based on the fact that our QB cannot execute the play because it’s out of his skill set. He still does plenty in the passing game (which is the QBs main responsibility) to not deserve a cyan circle. Now, on your definition of cyan circle; I think your moving the goal posts a bit on that one. Trouble spot has been reserved for a person that continually disrupts the Team from playing winning football (EG. the reason this defense/offense sucks) It has never been explained as match up based. It also has never been reserved for one player ( 2018 Michigan state oline) so they need to create I different set of symbols for what you are explaining

There is too much focus on…

There is too much focus on the QB being a part of the run game. Just because a QB fakes a keep doesn’t mean that he had any intention of keeping the ball. I would guess that most of those plays are just split zone like the bloggers keep complaining about. It’s pretty clear that Cade is not a dual threat QB and so they don’t really have him involved in the run game. So they need to stop grading him out bad and call it for what it is, a poor play call. So yes, cyan is pretty out of hand. Unless, it some sort of unspoken reverse jinx, it’s clearly undeserved. Gram Mertz on the chart wasn’t even cyan last week and he is awful. Can we just enjoy nice things.

I refuse to read until Cade…

I refuse to read until Cade’s cyan circle is gone. Please change this.

That Cyan is pretty…

That Cyan is pretty ridiculous. That’s reserved for “trouble spot”. When exactly has Cade gotten this team into trouble yet? Maybe he deserves it later on, but he certainly hasn’t done anything to get that bad of a rap yet. Maybe Seth should just focus on basketball if he get that upset over an incomplete pass.

Definitely a solid point. I…

Definitely a solid point. I would say we saw him run the RPO offense to effect in the rutger game last year. The PSU game he got hurt on the second drive (he did move the ball until then FWIW).  Western he moved the ball well, but the RPO offense seems to have gone away. Washington, Ran the ball so well he was never really needed to make a throw more than 5 yards.  I just think this offense is completely different this year. More emphasis in the run. Less RPOs. Also, I would look to see if Michigan completely changes scheme every big game like they did in 2015. I remember other teams saying that what Harbaugh did in his first two years.

This is a great article, but…

This is a great article, but I do have one question. Why do we automatically assume Cade can’t execute the deep passing game and can’t thrive in an RPO offense. I understand everyone wants the 5 star eye candy freshman; however, I haven’t seen enough of Cade to completely count him out. The 4 deep balls I have actually seen him throw this year have all been on target and catchable. Now, this doesn’t mean he can do these things. I just don’t understand how we have enough information on him to say he can or can’t run this system. They obviously haven’t had to win by Cades arm yet. Let’s take a deep breath and see what he can do please ?.

I would guess that Haskins…

I would guess that Haskins short shuddle time is ELITE. He is probably one of the fastest back a have ever seen through the hole. Obviously, he looses that momentum after about 20 years. His long speed is probably worse than his forty. I don’t really think Haskins is a perfect conp, but it is pretty close.

I don't think you realize…

I don't think you realize how much 25 carries is. A good back should be in rhythm after like 8.

Interesting Post, but, I do…

Interesting Post, but, I do think we are undervaluing Haskins a bit here. I know the purpose is of this article is to examine highly touted running backs, so that might be why you didn't talk about him all to much. I do not agree that Haskins will diminish through out the season. He is the only game ready quote-unquote "big back" on the roster. Also, I personally thought he out preformed Charbonnet last year. (It is a damn shame Charb transferred because he was talented; although, he kinda had a sophmore slump and bolted) Anyways, I think my point is too many people get caught up start gazing and instantly discredit the incumbent player, especially if he was a lower ranked recruit. Regardless, I think Haskins will be the most productive back this year by a pretty wide margin.

Based on the 4 min of film I…

Based on the 4 min of film I just watched, his throwing motion and stature reminds me of Kellen Mond out of Texas A&M. Has size and decent arm. Definitely a project. Good to have a QB on board!

This site is crazy, I bet if…

This site is crazy, I bet if you go back a look at the comments when Durkin left for Maryland job, it would be praising Harbaugh for having a HC assistant farm. It is what is. A HC good program in the Mac is a great opportunity. But man does it suck to loose a rising position coach before he even gets through a season.

I guess you could call this…

I guess you could call this optimism; but, this reminds me a lot of Harbaugh’s first year. There is talent on this team just like there was talent in places of the 16’ team. I am hoping Harbaugh reverts back to the Jim we saw in the first two years. This secrecy and low profile humbleness is what the team probably needs right now. I remember the quote from Jim on the HBO real sports document-series, “if you don’t like it you can get the F**** out.” Something along those lines was said to Speight. Would be nice to see a team with an edge again. I like the coaching  pieces he added in the off season. My biggest concern is gattis. Not sure he has the chops to make it as a OC at this level. From watching football  around the country, a OC either works right away and makes a big difference or they don’t. Let’s hope my uneducated assessment is wrong in that regard!

I think it’s pretty clear he…

I think it’s pretty clear he didn’t make it academically. Not the first, won’t be the last. That’s part of UM though. You need to be a student first to get in. Not mad about it. I bet my paycheck he would have gotten into OSU and BAMA with out a thought though. When you get upset about Michigan not being elite, this is part of the equation. You should probably find a new team to root for!

Lol same, I don’t mind…

Lol same, I don’t mind criticizing Harbs. But the way he goes about it, it’s just a bunch of hit pieces. Most of his content is pretty blatantly stolen form VIP sites too.

Oh Brandon Brown and his …

Oh Brandon Brown and his “sources.” That guy is a complete joker. He pedals reactionary complaining as “journalism.” The only reason anyone reads his stuff is the fact that they are waving around the animated corpse of sports Illustrated.

The one no one is talking…

The one no one is talking about....Kirby Smart. Reading some of the replies, People on this blog are insufferably idiotic sometimes.

In my humble opinion there…

In my humble opinion there are four games that Michigan could loose. Minny; PSU; Wiscy; and Indiana. I think our coaching staff has enough credit to split those games. Then I think a Loss at OSU. So I think 5-3 as an expectation. Loosing more would be under preforming. Winning more would be over achieving. I’d say match up with Iowa in the champions weekend.

Unpopular Opinion (I guess?)…

Unpopular Opinion (I guess?): Big House by Pop Evil was awesome.

Why cant people just accept…

Why cant people just accept this and move on. You are spot on man!

I agree 100%. This is more…

I agree 100%. This is more of an Offensive Issue than Defensive one at this point. To be elite in CFB these days you have to win a shoot out. Ball control offence cealing is Wisconsin. Michigan is currently stuck some where in between. In my opinion the D have been elite since Brown has been here ;Stats dont lie. Its the offence that is Still playing catch up.

Brad Hawkins, Khaleke Hudson…

Brad Hawkins, Khaleke Hudson; Josh Mettelus; Josh Uche; Kwitty Paye; Vincent Gray; Just to name a few...

UM is in the top 10…

UM is in the top 10 currently (8) with more Four star players than 3. Take your fragile ego to Twitter man.

I think Hawkins is a Junior…

I think Hawkins is a Junior Next year

Why do people feel like they…

Why do people feel like they have to protect their ego by convincing themselves that UofM is going to get blown out. Own your fucking team. Don't be such a bitch. You only can be the best by beating the best. Its such a LOSERS mentality. It also makes you come off as a soft weak person. This is a great opportunity for Michigan re-write some narratives. Yes, UM could get blown out. But don't use it as deflection to give yourself sanity after a loss. If you need to do that you are a mentally unstable human being who should probably not be watching sports.

When I see the guy play he…

When I see the guy play he reminds me of Chris Wormley. I don't see his home as a WDE at all. Looks To be still growing at this point as well. Has a really solid base (legs; core) Speed looks like a concern. Seems more physical than finesse. His frame suggests he will top out in the 280 290 range. SDE or 3tech DL. Looks like a solid player though.

I feel like Patterson plays…

I feel like Patterson plays like "pre-season Hype O'Korn." Rumblings that he didn't do what he was supposed to this offseason in preparation seem true. The good thing is that he has looked better every week. Maybe he is slowly shaking off the rust. I just hope that he could at least get back to 2018 Patterson.

What year are you talking…

What year are you talking about. Last year was probably the only year that I could think of. Turner and Charb are both much more talented runner than higdon.

this isn't a emotional…

this isn't a emotional response at all....

This game felt very Hokesh…

This game felt very Hokesh. With that being said, Oline was not the problem. WRs are still good. Our RB situation is its best it has been in decades. These are all things we couldn't say 6 years ago in a game like this. Patterson at this point just seems like a head case. He is the best QB on the roster. I think he feels the urgency of being a senior (last shot). I personally think he has been trying to do too much (score on every play). Which resulted in his getting hurt his first play from scrimmage this year. (SLIDE DAMMET!!!!!!) This team has the talent to win the B10. It just all rests on #2 shoulders. Here is to hoping he gets some confidence back in a week.

Dark Horse Heisman candidate…

Dark Horse Heisman candidate. Dude is super talented.

what could have been…

what could have been...thanks brandon

ND is the the last team I…

ND is the the last team I care about beating. We don't need to win that game to get to the B10 championship. Worry about Penn State, MSU, OSU.

Offence takes a step forward…

Offence takes a step forward; Defense takes a step back. I think that's a net gain? Yes?

Cant Imagine the 5th night…

Cant Imagine the 5th night game in the history of the Big House would be cheap. Try the Rutgers game. Or sit on the MSU game and see if they are going into it with a loosing record; sparties will be unloading tickets for 10$ a piece in droves! hahaha.

Across the board this will…

Across the board this will be Harbaugh's most talented team. It will also be his most balanced (offence/defense). Now does that mean that we will win the B10? Ohio State WILL take a step back this year will a FRESHMAN (HELLO) QB. Michigan will be more Talented than every other team on its schedule. Now, I have seem previous teams struggle with a new OC. It will take a lot of the season to get into full form. MSU will have the Michigan Game Circled and million times over. It aint gunna be easy; but, you got to believe that this year is Michigan's Best shot for a title in a decade. I THINK they can do it. But that Remains to be seen. I think they stumble with one of the Rivals. But still get to the B10 championship game. Its going to be one of those years where you have teams with 1 or more losses contending. It can be done. The odds are in our favor. Will it Happen? Who Knows??

4.6 is very fast. Not a…

4.6 is very fast. Not a knock on speed I don't think. 40 isn't the greatest measure of speed. Elite Athletes Keep gaining speed after 40 yards. Barkley (Penn State; Gaints) ran a 4.6 in high school i beleive; breaks away for pro DBs.

Obviously sites can identify…

Obviously sites can identify talent, I never said they couldn't. My main point is that actual college coaches evaluations are better than some journalist's opinion. These sites put too much weight in testing numbers and 7 on 7 tournaments. I think the best way to evaluate a player is film regardless of talent level. Watch the 15 yard runs, not the 60 yard carries where they go untouched. Compair Derrick Green's HS film to Le'veon Bell's. You will see what I mean.

Explosive, twitchey athlete…

Explosive, twitchey athlete that looks like he could add another good 30lbs of muscle. This guy would be a safe sleeper bet if he doesn't get the "committed to Michigan bump" to four star. Not that 4 starzzzz matter. This staff has proven that their evaluations of players well surpass any recuiting sites evals. Go Blue!

I think the scouting…

I think the scouting websites are too obsessed with the 40 yard dash. I'd guess most coaches will trust film more than they will trust a combine number. Not to say the 40 isn't important. I would like to see what Bush's 40 time was in high school. I'd bet he didn't run a 4.4. Thomas seems like a guy who could transform his body to get to the point where he may be running sub 4.6 before its all said and done.

I think Harbaugh has the…

I think Harbaugh has the most balanced team he has had in his tenure at Meechigan. You heard it here first, Jimmy gets over the hump and wins his first big ten title. Still drops one to a rival, but the conference chaos works out in UofM's favor. GO BLUE!
