12/07/2017 - 2:51pm I love Walton and he was for

I love Walton and he was for sure the biggest reason we made the late season run.

But nobody ever talks about DJ Wilson enough. He was a 1st round pick and allowed us to do what we are hoping Livers can do—put Duncan in a 6th man instant offense role.
He massively improved our defense (sometimes by moving to the 5).

Livers and Poole are the biggest X factors. I think Brooks will improve over time but having athletes like Poole and Livers helps us match up on defense better (without hopefully sacrificing offense).

I have confidence in one of those happening and if both happen look out.

11/14/2017 - 12:31pm Is GhostofJermaine the new

Is GhostofJermaine the new UMbig11?

10/27/2017 - 11:47am I'm actually curious about

I'm actually curious about the new assistant coaches. Beilein said he is going to delegate more duties so interesting to see how the defense looks (similar to Donlon?).

10/17/2017 - 1:22pm To me it's not anything to do

To me it's not anything to do with their offense.

Yes we have to contain them but Barkley had a monster game against Iowa (caveat that it was at iowa) and they still only scored 21 points.

Against Pitt and Indiana (both not great teams but similar to us) they had 7 total turnovers between the two (4 for Indiana and 3 for Pitt) that gives penn state short fields and keeps the crowd into it.

It really comes down to no turnovers by our offense and keeping the same level of play on special teams and defense. It will be close and I give us a chance to win if we do that (no matter what O'korn does).

If we get Purdue O'Korn I actually expect to win.

10/17/2017 - 10:26am Another vote for Wasems.
It

Another vote for Wasems.

It is less crowded then some of the other places and it is just apple picking with rest cider and donuts.

They do have a pumpkin patch and sometimes raspberries too.

Their cider and donuts are delicious and there isn't too many bees especially this time of the year

09/19/2017 - 12:21pm I guess where I am confused

I guess where I am confused is how great we were in the red zone last year (top 10) and this year we are close to the bottom.
The line wasn't a strength last year either but did good enough.

I feel like they need to play more to the strengths of our team right now... To me this shouldn't be Perry as the first option (great routes and hands) and then maybe Gentry or TE. And finally I don't remember much Hammering Panda (either goal line runs or routes).
I feel like the runs up the middle and fade routes are too prevalent and ply to our weaknesses.

Just change some of the playcalls (or who the first reads are) and it should be closer to last year...

Impressive performance overall.

Hopefully Wilton improves as everything else looked on course (and championship level really).

09/02/2017 - 9:02pm Also impressive kick

Also impressive kick coverage. I thought the forced fumble in the 3rd quarter was huge- we had just taken the lead and then got another 3 points.

08/04/2017 - 2:59pm So basically the Trace

So basically the Trace McSorley offense at Penn state? He would love these kinds of targets.

08/03/2017 - 1:17pm Like others in the thread I

Like others in the thread I would say 2014 somewhere.

Probably not Notre Dame even though it sucked but the Utah game at home. I stayed after the torrential downpour to watch a game I knew they would lose with mostly Utah fans left in the stands.
Or the Minnesota debacle where I left early in the 4th quarter and missed the concussion fiasco.

That whole season made me apathetic and question why I did it anymore. The worst feeling in the world.

07/14/2017 - 2:05pm Federer didn't play his A

Federer didn't play his A game today and still won in straight sets.
Has to be the favorite against Cilic but they've had close matches in majors over the last couple of years.

07/06/2017 - 2:51pm San Webb made it seem like

San Webb made it seem like David Reese (NTDR) was interested and a good fit for Don Brown either as a DE or LB. good versatile skill set.

05/02/2017 - 2:01pm I somehow wish it was

I somehow wish it was possible for Dan Dickerson to do the play-by-play.

I know he primarily does Tigers baseball but he did a Michigan hockey game once and he was phenomenal.

I think that would be my #1 choice but really anybody would be better than Brandy (and I think Brandy doing color would be ideal as he is a good color guy).

Also Dan Miller does Lions games with Brandy maybe just have him do the Michigan games too?

I just binged Black Mirror on Netflix.

Was really interesting concept and thought most of the episodes were really great.

03/29/2017 - 12:17pm Honestly he would be perfect

Honestly he would be perfect for the system and his role here.

I don't know much about Oregon basketball but seeing they have a "backup" like Jordan Bell was huge for them advancing to the Final Four when Chris Boucher went out. Bamba could be the yin to Wagner yang (Wagner more of a shooter and not as great for rebounding/defense).

I.E. I see Bamba like Jordan Bell (which is I think was the missing piece for this team)

03/23/2017 - 1:20pm Uniforms

Any clue what uniforms are being worn on both sides? I know Oregon is the higher seeded team and can choose...

01/27/2017 - 9:59am I think we owe Maverick

I think we owe Maverick Morgan a thank you for his comments after the loss at Illinois.

The "white collar" comment seems to have sharpened the focus. We have played well since that happened...

The trajectory will be fine...

12/31/2016 - 6:17pm Iowa students will probably

Iowa students will probably not be back from break so hopefully that has an effect on the crowd noise.

12/08/2016 - 10:41am As much as I know this won't

As much as I know this won't ever happen due to the other bowls not getting the money I feel like the Rose Bowl should be the host for the Championship game every year.

The environment and ambiance is truly college football and having the final game at the Rose Bowl stadium every year would be the perfect end to each season.

11/17/2016 - 4:32pm Two things about that though

Two things about that though would be different that at Iowa in terms of preparation:

The conference championship is at a neutral location indoors and the playoffs would be in warm weather regions and also at neutral sites.

Not the same as 30-40 degree weather in a hostile road environment.

11/13/2016 - 2:47pm Last time we had a gut punch

Last time we had a gut punch moment was against Michigan State in 2015 or I guess OSU in 2015. We responded well to those losses and I have no doubt that Michigan and Harbaugh will rally. Beat Indiana and then prepare for an epic battle against OSU for the right to go to Indy.

11/08/2016 - 11:20am First timer going with

First timer going with friends and family as well.

We are staying a little outside of Iowa City but want to walk around the campus and see the "must-see" aspects of Iowa so to speak.

Also a good restaurant or food options would be appreciated.

11/03/2016 - 4:28pm Other than Iowa (who I think

Other than Iowa (who I think is similiar to MSU and is beatable) would we really face many ultrabig formations other than as special packages?

Even Alabama is more spread than Manball now it seems.

10/31/2016 - 11:56am We decided to go scalping for

We decided to go scalping for tickets and the prices were too high. But around 11:30 we ran into Bobby McAllister (who was a QB for MSU when they played in the Rose Bowl) and he gave us his 2 tickets. Section 27 right at the top.

He told us some cool stories about the rivalry and what it was like to be there when Coach Harbaugh played. He also had just finished doing a radio show with Jamie Morris.

Ended up being an awesome day with good seats and of course a victory!

10/19/2016 - 9:33am Xavier Simpson is going to be

Xavier Simpson is going to be starting point guard or 2 guard?

I feel like MAAR is better suited coming off the bench to be honest.

09/19/2016 - 3:02pm If I recall someone in the

If I recall someone in the comments section said Sam Webb had a "gut feeling" that Lewis will play against PSU this weekend.

It works perfectly as he will knock the rust off and then be ready to go for Wisconsin (although they are not exactly a dangerous throwing team).

07/14/2016 - 11:12am I thought the most

I thought the most entertaining thread was when the guy asked about shirtless pictures of the basketball team... for a friend

05/17/2016 - 1:23pm Just to be clear I believe

Just to be clear I believe the rankings next to these teams is based off of the "Way-Too-Early Top 25" list that ESPN did recently.

The AP polls and whatever preseason rankings usually come out in July or August if I am not mistaken. But either way Michigan will most likely be Top 10 or Top 5.

Any advice for those of you that have done it?

03/08/2016 - 8:20am I was under the impression we

I was under the impression we took Mo Wagner and then wanted Jaylen Brown and may not have had the room.

But if Jaylen Brown decided and we could have kept Max I don't understand why we wouldn't want another big man bullet in the chamber.

03/03/2016 - 2:45pm Not at Dantonio or Bert?

Not at Dantonio or Bert?

03/01/2016 - 3:12pm I agree with wanting to play

I agree with wanting to play PSU for two reasons:

The first being that we match up better with them than Northwestern.

The other being RPI wins; if PSU wins the last two regular season games (both winnable home games against Northwestern and Illinois) then they would be in the top 100 of the RPI when we play and we can add another top 100 win.

Cool story on the partnership and loyalty between the two.

90210 for some reason is addicting

02/17/2016 - 2:01pm The bad thing about Indiana

The bad thing about Indiana is the announcer.

It is a glorfied high school atmosphere but the double OT game was still fun and the city is pretty cool as well.

01/29/2016 - 12:43pm Florida domination

Michigan vs Florida football 3-0

Jan. 1, 2003: No. 12 Michigan defeated No. 22 Florida 38-30 in the Outback Bowl:

Jan. 1, 2008: Unranked Michigan defeated No. 9 Florida 41-35 in the Capital One

Jan. 1, 2016: No.12 Michigan defeated No. 25 Florida 41-7 in the Orlando Citrus Bowl

Michigan basketball defeats Florida in Elite Eight 79-59

01/21/2016 - 12:00pm 96. UTAH 24, MICHIGAN 17

96. UTAH 24, MICHIGAN 17 (SEPT. 3)

We forget about this as the two faded in the second half of the season.

I don't remember Michigan "fading" in the 2nd half of the season. I recall losing a fluke game to Michigan State and yes getting destroyed by Ohio State.

But destroying SEC East Champ Florida and finishing ranked #12 with a record of 10-3 is not fading by any stretch.

01/15/2016 - 11:40am The key part of the schedule

The key part of the schedule (and this has been mentioned by Brian and Ace and other commenters) is some of the out of conference teams scheduled.

Houston Baptist (W 82-57): 8-7 overall, 3-0 Southland

Kenpom: 267

Notes: Not a very good team.  The Huskies have beaten the 3 bottom teams in the Southland Conference, and those teams all rank below 330 on Kenpom.

Win Status: Meh

Delaware State (W 80-33): 1-14 overall, 0-1 MEAC

Kenpom: 349 (out of 351)

Northern Kentucky (W 77-62): 4-10 overall, 0-3 Horizon

Kenpom: 282

Youngstown State (W 105-46):  7-10 overall, 2-2 Horizon

Kenpom: 222

Notes: Another average-at-best mid-major team.  Blown out by any team of significance.

Win Status: Meh

Bryant (W 96-60): 6-11 overall, 3-1 NEC

Kenpom: 294

All above 200 (and Delaware State wow). This drags down the strength of schedule numbers way more than it should. I understand maybe 1-2 tomato cans but 5 is way too many. Michigan should be scheduling local teams (Oakland, Detroit, Eastern, Western) so that it increases the non-conference SOS and also makes for a more entertaining schedule.

12/28/2015 - 4:49pm In the article it says that

In the article it says that the running back that is going to start next year also went over 1,000 yards rushing.

Indiana had two 1,000 yard rushers:

Howard-1,213 yards

Redding- 1,012 yards (including bowl game)

Howard was a good talent but I also think scheme and the IU offensive line are huge components to the success as well.

11/15/2015 - 9:34pm I was at the game yesterday

I was at the game yesterday as well.

To echo the OP's points:

1) The PA announcer was unbearable. It is so nice to have a non-biased PA announcer who doesn't shout FIRST DOWN!

2) It felt like a mix between a high school atmosphere and NFL atmosphere. High school because the crowd wasn't full, the IU fans who were there didn't seem extremely knowledgeable (although they did cheer loud towards the end), and just the overall excitement and atmosphere was less than impressive. And then NFL because they would do things like a kiss cam, emoji cam, mario bicycle race, and trivia questions in the crowd. Plus during replays and announcements there was advertisements covering half of the screen. It made me really grateful for the Michigan stadium experience.

3) The IU fans we met were nice, polite, and helpful with any questions.

4) The game itself was stressful and felt like a game we could lose pretty much after the 1st quarter. Glad we pulled it out as the D looked gassed at the end.

Overall it was a good experience and interesting to see another stadium experience.
