I get that, I could see the fanbase coming down 50/50 on the question.  National title is obviously another story.

11/09/2018 - 12:59pm I would rather beat OSU and…

I would rather beat OSU and miss the playoff to a one loss Georgia or whoever the committee ridiculously puts forward than make the playoff after losing to OSU.

11/05/2018 - 10:35am Its possible a lineman did…

Its possible a lineman did it more recently, but Maurice Clarret was on the OSU sideline when he took his official for the Game in '01.

Hopefully this Q is building on AFWolverine and not thread jacking.  I'm also going to the SMU, first time back on campus in 15 years.  For the 3:30 start what time when (and where) does the band start the walk in to the stadium? Is walking  in behind the band still a thing people do?  I have fond memories of doing that occasionally instead of the usual proper tailgate, if it is still a thing might be worthwhile AFWolverine?

09/23/2017 - 10:46am Question

I have to watch tape delayed today, no worries have a much better record in these situations than Bryan Mac, Penn st last year was the last time. There is an MLB game on FOX before the scheduled start of our game, it's scheduled for three hours, wouldn't be crazy if it spilled into our game. Do we know which channel Fox would move the start of our game too?

05/11/2017 - 4:17pm Hardly

Utah got a private workout and has years of workout tapes and practice scouting and you know actual game tape.  I think we all know how well DJ's game translate into the way the NBA plays today.  I think he will be a lot like Oubre, sit for a year and be a matchup nightmare when deployed in the right spot.  It sucks for us tho.

05/11/2017 - 3:25pm Utah

He got a promise from Utah

05/11/2017 - 3:00pm Sorry to be bearer of bad tidings

He's going to Utah

02/26/2014 - 4:05pm Shared Title

Do we officially share the B10 title if we finished tied with only MSU or does the sweep break the tie?

10/15/2013 - 2:36pm Agreed

Reshp1, my question is how much of the decision to go super conservative at the start and end was from Borges and how much from Hoke.  It seems to me Borges's preferred approach is still bombs away (to his dettrement sometimes, like with Denard in trash tornado) and when the game situation neccesitated he open in up, he did to good effect.  But this was a Carr era scoring offense v. non scoring offense thing and does Borges decide that or does Hoke?

04/08/2013 - 9:56am Is this a word?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

If yes than that is my word, if not superexcitednervous will have to do.

Go Blue

03/29/2013 - 4:22pm Also

Manny's three point play at the end of the Clemson game in the '09 tournament.

And every single second of the Tennessee curb stomping in '11

03/21/2013 - 11:35pm Missouri

VCUs loss to Missouri bodes well. They are a very guard oriented team that is too say the least defensively challenged. Basically a worse version of us.

03/14/2013 - 12:43pm Antonio Poole

Antonio Poole was/is the rumored injury player - this, to me at least, seems more like he wasn't going to get playing time here so is going to move on to somewhere where he will, type situation.  Best of luck to him.

02/01/2013 - 3:04pm Last Year

A lot of the same people on the same court last year and we played pretty well, lost a close one and outperformed the Kenpom score by a good margin, that bit of history seems way more relevant than the fact the Fab Five always lost in Bloomington

08/09/2012 - 9:37pm Mgo hall of fame

Waive off the waiting period. This thread should be in mgo hall of fame immediately.

It makes me feel way less creepy that so many people flipped out with excitement over the decision of a not yet high school junior. Greatful for that

05/22/2012 - 3:05pm +1 for Neutral Milk

Oh Comely seems perfect for this.

04/09/2012 - 1:10pm Amedeo Della Valle

Not that it matters much, with the good news already in our pockets, but same source says Della Valle is a pretty strong bet to end up at Ohio.

04/09/2012 - 12:47pm More Good Burke News

I have a friend who is an nba/international scout.  One of his friends is an agent who is friendly with Benji Burke and the word is an announcement, possibly as early as tomorrow, will announce Trey will be back.  I trust this - but move your bayesian estimates as you wish.

04/05/2012 - 11:14am +1 to you

Was just going to say this has to be the first presser all spring without a Campbell question.  Like spring weight gains/losses I say no question is a good sign!

03/11/2012 - 10:55pm Best of luck to him

And feels a bit wrong to move on so quickly but does this bump us to 23 spots available or is this counted as part of the normal attrition?

01/09/2012 - 12:52pm TE

Depending on exactly what Borges wants to do when we are full on pro-style and also depending on what Sam Grant decides in the next month, our need at TE will will either be severe or simply strong and I bet we take two.

01/06/2012 - 5:28pm Of course

boo Strauss, but I very much enjoyed the estoric message in this post.

12/06/2011 - 4:22pm One other Positive Khoury Tibit From UFR Iowa 2010

"Losing Molk was a chunk of that. While Khoury didn't seem out of place he's the backup for a reason and his lack of experience contributed to a couple of screwups; the occasional iffy snap that threw timing off was not included in the numbers. I don't think I saw him get a tough seal like this all day:

(No need to embed, easy enough to picture awesome Molk reach block)

Even so a redshirt sophomore backup notching a positive number against Iowa's veteran, deep line is encouraging."

12/06/2011 - 4:17pm Khoury - UFR Iowa 2010
Khoury 10 7.5 2.5 Had his share of issues but was not a liability; backup situation this year so much better than the Moosman shuffle last year.

Backs up that assesment of Khoury.  By the start of next season he will have almost two additional years since then to imporve.  He can't replace Molk; no one can, but he will be solid and if someone beats him out for the spot, they will presumably have to be better than solid .

Its a big if, but even with Molk gone I think the line will be very good, IF they stay healthy.

10/11/2011 - 12:45pm Curious

What are folks opinions about who between Strobel, Wormley and Godin is most likely to jump to the front of the line to get lots of playing time at the 5-tech next year?  (potentially even starting if one of Black/Roh doesn't get moved to the other side)

10/05/2011 - 8:12pm Magnuson

There was some talk that he was going to enroll early a while back but the coaches supposedly told him he was redshirting either way so he decided against it.  I agree witht he concern about OL depth next year, but obviously the coaches dont think early enrollee freshman OLs are the answer

10/04/2011 - 8:32pm Northwestern game 1999

Was northwestern really favored in that game? If I remember right it was at the big house and we were ranked and they weren't. We killed them too.

10/03/2011 - 10:42am Color Me Skeptical

I couldn't be more excited about the prospect of McGary coming here, even making it this far into his recruitment is a great sign for Beilen and the program.  But this is playing out eerily like the recruitment of Casey Prather a few years back : http://mgoblog.com/content/casey-prather-coming-wing-near-you

I won't be convinced until he signs on the line that is dotted.

09/29/2011 - 4:08pm One and Done

I think there is a chance he will stay beyond one season if he comes.  He is currently 19 and therefore eligible for the NBA draft next year out of high school and still is firmly commited to attending college for at least a year, so clearly there are concerns beyond jumping to the NBA as soon as possible.  FWIW when judged with all players eligible for the next year's NBA draft he checks in just outside the first round.

09/29/2011 - 11:59am O'Brien

I have no inside knowledge at all, but the scuttlebut, I think, suggests more that our staff cooled a bit on O'Brien and/or on the idea of taking two 1-tech guys, than anything O'Brien said about us.

09/20/2011 - 10:42pm Bob loblaw

I hear he's got a lawblog now.

09/16/2011 - 12:38pm Back Shoulder and Purposely Underthrown Balls

Isn't the one major drawback to this method of defense that it is impossible to defend back shoulder throws or underthrown balls that the WR adjusts to?  Almost impossible not to pick up a PI call if the WR tries to adjust by coming back to an underthrown pass.  Worried MSU will kill us with this the way we killed Gray.

09/15/2011 - 3:38pm D will be better...

after the bye week.  Thats when we will radically change schemes and have guys playing at positions they've never played before to help us improve.  Or do all coaches not operate that way?

09/13/2011 - 2:15pm BTN2GO?

Have people had good experiences with it?

09/12/2011 - 9:37am You haven't heard?

Al Borges is forcing Denard to tie his shoes this year

09/11/2011 - 2:25am Kicker

Not sure we know yet what Hoke would really do, clearly, he rightly, has zero trust in our kicking game is coaching accordingly.  In the presser he hinted that he might have taken a second shot at the endzone if that pass was incomplete.

09/04/2011 - 10:23am Greg garmon

Would it be negative recruiting or simply be the menschy thing to do to let Harmon know he is taking his life into his hands if he goes to Iowa.

09/02/2011 - 2:39pm Thanks

And again no offense intended, just I'm sure I'm not the only one who has pre game rituals that  they hate to have messed with.

09/02/2011 - 2:36pm Game Previdews

Not to sound like a fanboy or anything, and no offense to Ace, whose stuff I have enjoyed so far, but is Brian not going to be writing the game previews this year?

08/17/2011 - 1:26pm Isiah Bell

Is he at this point more of MIKE or SAM?  It'd be nice for him to at least add depth somewhere and ensure that we not burn a redshirt for somone like Beyer, who should be good but needs to learn a new position.

08/17/2011 - 12:23pm Hawthorne

Is Hawthorne threatening for a first team spot at SS or WILL? In my mind he has been threw a bunch of position changes and can't remember where he is at now.  Seems like it would be nice if someone had an impressive camp and grab that WILL spot.

08/09/2011 - 3:57pm BWC

After all the discussion yesterday about him being under 320, weird to see him listed at 322, three pounds isn't a big deal at all, but still strange to talk him up specifically as being under a number and than list him above it.

Mike Jones, seems to be have bulked up enough to be the WILL, which is nice.
