01/26/2018 - 11:07am Bummer.

I actually don't mind Jemele. She can be annoying during rivalry week but otherwise I like her work.

12/08/2017 - 4:13pm Yeah Jefferson has swept all

Yeah Jefferson has swept all of the high school POY awards this year.

12/08/2017 - 12:05am Terrance Taylor was the last

Terrance Taylor was the last Muskegon High player to sign with Michigan and that was back in '05. It's been far too long for my tastes.

12/07/2017 - 10:48pm He was their starting tackle

He was their starting tackle in the '16 state championship game. I think he was eligible immediately because he transferred in from out of state.

12/07/2017 - 10:20pm Muskegon's OL was something

Muskegon's OL was something to behold this year. For a size comparison, here's how the Big Reds stacked up against an NFL team.

2017 Dallas Cowboys O-line (tackle-to-tackle)

6'5 320
6'2 302
6'4 320
6'4 310
6'4 315

Ave. 6'4 313

2017 Muskegon High School O-line

6'5 330 (Bradford)
6'0 250 (Johnson)
6'1 285 (Mills-Ellis)
6'2 304 (Cooper)
6'6 315 (Reed)

Ave 6' 3 297

Everyone save Reed returns next year for Muskegon

12/07/2017 - 9:42pm Muskegon grad here

Muskegon grad here. The tea leaves suggest he may be MSU bound. MSU is going after Muskegon QB La'Darius Jefferson hard. Jefferson has won most of Michigan's high school player of the year awards.

I'm sure Reed and Jefferson would love playing together again. I just wish it would be in Ann Arbor instead if East Lansing.

06/22/2017 - 9:22pm Awesome.

Awesome. Great fit for his style of play.

06/22/2017 - 10:46am Things happen. For all we know

Things happen. For all we know he could have returned only to suffer a serious injury.

Now he'll at least be able to work on his game full-time.

06/20/2017 - 8:28pm This could be

This could be good news For DJ Wilson.

LA will now have the 27th and 28th picks of the draft in the range Wilson is expected to go.

Draft Express had the Nets taking DJ at 27, Chad Ford and FS1 have LA taking him at 28:

01/16/2017 - 8:57am Part of what made MLK so great

Part of what made MLK so great was that, contrary to popular belief, he was a pretty radical dude.

He was arrested over 30 times while protesting believing, "One has a moral responsiblility to disobey unjust laws."

He called on U.S. leaders to scale down militarism, to form a multiracial working class coalition and to combat poverty.

"Everyone is worrying about the long hot summer with its threat of riots. We had a long cold winter when little was done about the conditions that create riots," King said in June 1967.

King was a Democratic Socialist who preached about resistance and strength as much as he preached about love. But many of these qulities have been sanitized out of history.

10/22/2016 - 11:08am Calvin

Calvin alum here, '13 grad. Go Knights and Go Pistons!

09/17/2016 - 5:32pm Speight

Speight went 6-9 after that 3-12 start. Hopefully he can connect on the deep throws in the second half.

09/17/2016 - 5:23pm #Darboh4Heisman

08/21/2016 - 11:57pm My vote

My vote goes to Decathlete Ashton Eaton, who is won back-to-back Gold medals in the event. Just the third Olympian to do so.

08/02/2016 - 3:17pm At least they gave us

At least they gave us a point-system to work with that makes sense. I prefer this to list articles that read "I believe school x is No. 1 because reasons."

It looks like Michigan is the highest-ranked team with two national titles.

07/24/2016 - 12:11pm The Kitchen

The Kitchen Scene from the Raid 2.

07/22/2016 - 10:24pm Harvel was the third coach

Harvel was the third coach in Detroit PSL history to win a state football title, joining Jim Reynolds (King) and Wilcher (Cass). Every state football title from the PSL has come since 2007.

07/11/2016 - 10:20am 15-time

15-time All-Star

Five-time NBA Champion

Two-time MVP

Three-time Finals MVP

Ever since the Spurs drafted Duncan No. 1 overall in 1997, no team in any of the four major sports has had a better win percentage (.710)

07/01/2016 - 2:20pm In today's NBA

In today's NBA, a player averaging 40 MPG is very rare. KCP was one of the league leaders in minutes at 37 per.

I believe LeBron averaged right under 40 this season.

03/14/2016 - 3:55pm Her name is

Her name is pronounced Kai-zer.

02/10/2016 - 10:23pm Mr. Big Shot

Mr. Big Shot spend eight of his 17 seasons with Detroit., with career averages of 16.5 points and 6.2 assists during that span.

 - Five All-Star appearances

- Second in franchise history in 3-pointers made (890)

-  Fourth in franchise history in assists (2,984)

-  Eighth in free throws made (2,336)

What an awesome ceremony. So many great memories of watching him sink clutch baskets.

02/09/2016 - 11:44pm Bowie State

Bowie State is a member of the University System of Maryland. That relationship may have played a factor as well.

02/09/2016 - 8:48pm I'd imagine

I’d imagine at least part of it has to do with it being Black History Month. Bowie State is Maryland's oldest historically black university and one of the ten oldest in the country.

01/27/2016 - 11:17am (No subject)

01/21/2016 - 12:49am A few more interesting numbers

A few more interesting numbers from Tuesday's game:

- Minus Drummond, the Pistons were 22-of-23 from the line.

- After going 7-of-28 from the line thru the first 3 quarters, Drummond was 6-of-8 in the 4th.

11/10/2015 - 12:48am Hopefully Jackson

Hopefully Jackson's injury is short-term. A long-term injury would throw a wrench in the progress the team has made.

10/20/2015 - 12:16am They're actually shooting

They're actually shooting Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them right now.

It's set 70 years before Harry Potter existed and centers around Newt Scamander and his findings. It's supposed to be released next fall. Pretty stoked for it!

09/23/2015 - 12:01pm True, players like

True, players like Ogden are one in a million. He also plays on the varsity basketball team. Not sure he'd be Power 5 caliber in basketball but I'm sure some teams would give him a look.

09/03/2015 - 12:47am Am I too late

Am I too late for the bang?

08/28/2015 - 2:44pm Cubit to serve as interim coach.

Cubit to serve as interim coach. Honestly, I feel like Cubit is an upgrade over Beckman.

08/21/2015 - 8:16am Happy Friday, everyone!

Happy Friday, everyone! Less than two weeks away from the most anticipated season opener in recent memory!

08/14/2015 - 12:12pm According to Jim

According to Jim Mora, Cordell informed him yesterday that he decided he wanted to be more involved with his company Film School Productions.

08/10/2015 - 7:30pm "Broyles said

"Broyles said he, his wife and child live on a budget close to $60,000 a year, with the rest of his money going to investments and savings. Broyles is also frugal when it comes to spending on cars or his home."

He has an average yearly salary of $900,000, so his family is living off about 7% of his yearly salary. That's intense.

07/18/2015 - 8:54am Ugh.

Ugh. Here we go...the season can't get here fast enough.

07/11/2015 - 8:32pm I noticed

I noticed that LexCorp seemed to get their hands on General Zod's body. Seems like the rumors about Doomsday making appearances may be true, for better or worse.

07/11/2015 - 7:04pm That's Jeremy Irons.

That's Jeremy Irons. He definitely favors him in this trailer.

07/08/2015 - 3:28pm Marvel has announced

Marvel has announced that Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) has been cast as Elektra for Netflix's 'Daredevil' season 2.

Season 1 was fantastic; Netflix seems like the perfect place for Marvel's darker, street-level heroes. Yung seems like a good fit for the role.

06/21/2015 - 11:14pm As a Muskegon High

As a Muskegon High alum, it's great being able to see Big T play on television, even if it's AFL.

04/24/2015 - 10:13pm This look is based on the recent

This look is based on the recent All-Star Batman & Robin storyline, feturing a more muscular and prison-hardened Joker:

04/14/2015 - 7:04pm Just when I thought

Just when I thought this whole ordeal was over...

03/19/2015 - 10:21am I'm still waiting in vain

I'm still waiting in vain for my Jay Electronica album. A guy can dream...

02/28/2015 - 8:55am Interesting stuff.

Interesting stuff, if true. Where did you find it? Don't think I saw a source.

EDIT: Turns out i'm an idiot who can't read. Carry on.

02/11/2015 - 7:32pm Not a huge fan of David Banner,

Not a huge fan of David Banner, but his 2010 collaboration album with 9th Wonder was actually well done. Titled, "Death Of A Pop Star".

01/27/2015 - 9:59am The perception of this film

The perception of this film has been extremely negative ever since production began. I was pleasantly surprised by the teaser, but it will take a bit more to win me over.

Maybe one day Marvel Studios will get the rights back to all of their properties, including F4 and X-Men. Or maybe Fox and Marvel can negotiate a way for the characters to co-exist in the same universe. Alas, that may just be wishful thinking.

01/15/2015 - 1:04pm I'd really like for UM

I'd really like for UM to show interest in Muskegon Mona Shores Senior QB Tyree Jackson.

01/15/2015 - 1:02pm Nope.

Nope. That would be Concord De La Salle in California.

01/15/2015 - 11:08am Actually

Actually, I would say it's a toss-up between Division 2 and 3 for the strongest division in Michigan HS football. D1 will have a few good teams at the top, but that's about it.

01/14/2015 - 12:15pm Michigan

Michigan is a top 15 prep football state, I'd say that's pretty good all things considered.

01/13/2015 - 10:23am I think Michigan

I think Michigan has a great shot against OSU tonight...

01/13/2015 - 9:21am Brandon Jennings

Brandon Jennings vs. the Josh Smith release:

Before: 12.6 pts, 6.4 ast, 36.8 FG%, 15.5 PER

After: 20.3 pts, 7.0 ast, 47.0 FG%, 28.8 PER
