There's Only One Way

No kids, and a TON of sex. I don't understand why you have to axe this question. Sex is the answer to everything. Always has been, always will be.

Even Though

I might be talking to myself, it feels good to say it.

The Nebraska addition should tell people all they need to know about "academics" Honestly, you stuffed shirts had your pocket protectors swiped when Nebraska came on board. And remember Penn State? Not exactly the "academic fit harrumph harrumph" you all would have thought, were they?

If BC is the best for the Big Ten, they're in--and I think of all the teams mentioned, BC IS the best (outside of Notre Dame). They would probably bring more eastern market share than Rutgers or Stinkacuse, they are a WAY better program than those two put together, and they bring a rival for both PSU and Notre Dame.

But this thing is FOOTBALL driven and FOOTBALL DRIVEN ONLY (caps intentional for emphasis). Forget the AAU, the CIC, or any other letters you can come up with to try and sound smart.

Hopefully

You have to identify yourself as a Message Board Guy first, and all of those are sat in a special section behind some very thick glass so they can't, er, "communicate" with any of the human beings at the event.

So Should the Media

Who all hate Michigan, just do nothing but broadcast games and then write nothing but the final score in the next day's paper?

Well We don't have anything to revenge Notre Dame for, either. Good point. Maybe a symbolic revenge--like Revenge on Rosenberg or something?
Back in '71

It was you first hit of acid...

Y'Know

It's one thing to make a sickenlingly gratuitous reference to try and get pos-banged, but to extend it with the disingeuous "Book it" amps you up into the obnoxiously self-righteous category.

Connecticut is going to beat Michigan now because of YOU. And I hope you are happy with that. Book it.

When I Want to Find a Job

I go straight to a college football message board.

Sixty per cent of the time, it works...never.

The Main Trouble with This Conference

Is that there is only ONE team anybody even remotely cares about: Texas. Oklahoma? Yes, lots of tradition and all, but even they aren't the least bit bashful about admitting they will ride the coat tails of Texas for eternity.

The rest of the conference is absolute fodder for Texas and to a lesser extent, Oklahoma. IMO, Texas and Oklahoma are doint these other guys a favor by playing them at all--giving them ANY bit of exposure is more than the KU, KSU, ISU, Baylor and the rest deserve.

TAMU will come around--they HAVE to. They'd be a doormat in the SEC. The rest? They ought to PAY Texas and OU for the privilege of playing in the Longhorns' and Sooners' sandbox.

Imagine That

A Michigan fan angry at someone today.

Maybe we could call this game the "WIll Michigan Fan Find Something New to Whine About" trophy game?

Exactly and Thank You

Fearing the loss of Texas recruiting means, like everyone elts, taking the table scraps after Texas, Oklahoma, and TAMU are finished. Now granted, those table scraps are still pretty good, but they are not irreplaceable.

And I love the perception that Nebraska all the sudden has like 75 guys from Texas on their roster. Not so, and not even close. Nebraska has long been a major national recruiter (Tommy Frazier, anybody?), and they get, surprisingly, a pretty good infusion of talent from the state of Nebraska.

It seems not many people notice that since the creation of the Big 12 (along with this so called Texas Pipeline to Nebraska), the Corn has won just a couple B12 titles, hasn't challenged for the NC at all (excepting that ersatz Miami game), and WHOA! Jumped out of that conference at the first chance (imagine, Tom Osborne knowing something more than Message Board Recruiting Debby Downer Guy).

Why Does

EVERYTHING have to be in Maize and Blue?  I think the black & red would be cool: anger, hatred, passion, killing Notre Dame...man, sometimes all this "tradition" keeps people in a box they can't excape.

On another note: Uh, most people think this team is destined for 7-5 or 6-6...that's not exactly a Badass revenge tour...

I Call BS

You went to Michigan and don't know "disowned" is not hyphenated?

Cheap Intranets Starbucks offers free WiFi in most locations. So does Scooters, and of course, there's always the public library. Seriously, other than blogs and message boards and of course, some intermittent Craig's List, er, "shopping"--ahem...what DO you really need the intranets at home for?
What If

Dr Robert Leakey had never discovered that damn jawbone in  the Olduvai Gorge?

Stadium Expansion

I'm adding a new couch, which should seat three more people in my living room (can't have the guys over and have them watching football and rubbing legs with each other or touching each other "accidentally").

The Way I See It

Everyone keeps saying "Next" or rifling off a bunch of names we're supposed to be "in on" whenver a recruit commits somewhere elts.

IF we get those other guys, fine. But you know what? So far, we're not. There's only so many "Nexts" you can go to.

Don

I also was hoping Campbell would be retained.

He was great with the receivers at Michigan--they usually improved in route running and catching while under him.

But more specifically for this so called "spread offense"--Campbell's guys were blockers, big time. I hear the spread requires receivers who block?

As for this "negative recruiting" bullshit: So what? What should Campbell or anyone do but tell the truth: Rodriguez is about as close to being a lame-duck coach as you can have without it being official. Right?

To Sum it all up

Boyouts: Not too well received. I mean, who wants to retire in this economy? Who can?

Teach math and science: job. Don't? Pizza delivery.

Some jobs out there; some jobs not out there.

The upshot? As always, stay the fuck away from Michigan unless it's to visit and thank your lucky starz you don't live there.

Water Bottles

I personally think the water-bottle-filled-with-change-to-make-noise would be the only justifiable reason to allow concealed handguns in the stadium.

Have You Ever Heard of

H&R Block?

I mean, I know one of the most important functions of this blog is the self importance it feeds, but still--there ARE people who do this for a living right donw the street from you.

And you are self-employed--with no accountant or anything?

Are you a paperboy?

Huh? Whuuuuuuuut???

You mean there's this double standard being applied here?

You mean Shawn Conway isn't just a kid who caught a bad break (divorced parents--poor lil kid, that NEVER happens) and then stole some money, rather he is someone whom UM fans would jump up and down screaming like little girls if he was a Sparty or Buckeye?

Hyperbole is as Hyperbole Does

I think guys are just into the Denard theme because it's now so popular.

You know, the whole "Playing time is voluntary, too"  "Competition at every position" yada yada.

So Denard draws rave reviews from the practice spring scrimmage, and a few yaps on Scout buy into a sentence or two from King Beaver, and before you know it the intranets are flooded with "Tate Forcier is a gay biker who has gotten fat and never practices or watches film and is currently in a Turkish prison for running an illegal stuffed toy smuggling ring!"

And there's this whole "His ceiling is higher" "His floor is higher" "His bathroom plumbing sucks"

And this whole "Denard is lithium because he scored a TD against Western Michigan and doesn't tie his shoezz!"

I don't know what's going to happen, or who really does give uM the best chance. All I know is I saw Tate having to take a very shitty team on his shoulders and he willed it to a 4-0 start before the wheels came off (and most of them were not his fault). And Dneard showed flasshes, and MIGHT just be fucking great--but the games are a different story. And it's not inconceivable to me (as it seems to be to many) that Tate Forcier just might be improved himself!

But, you know, we're in the day and age where everything wrong with Michigan football is either the fault of Lloyd Carr or the players--because this coaching staff is A-1 fucking excellent and just needs about 4 more years to prove everyone wrong.

Ahhh

What would this board be without the daily "I hate this guy" threads that seem to fuel Michigan fans.

Cowherd has NEVER been wrong about Michigan. He said they were declining and over rated under Carr. CHECK. He said Michigan fans email you 3000 times when you say something "bad" about Michigan--then disappear when Michigan takes the pipe against OSU, USC, or bombs in some game they shouldn't. CHECK.

He said Michigan has always been a tremendous program with tremendous potential, and as soon as Michigan hired a "real" coach (or at least one not years past his prime), OSU and all others should beware. Um, that's kind of the feeling on these Rodriguez Groupies boards, idn't it?

He has consistently said Michigan WILL get it together under Rodriguez (and if not, some other guy)--that the future is so bright we need sunglasses.

What has he ever said that people here should be attacking him for?

Oh, I know. We're Michigan Message Board Guy. We know more than, well, just about anyone who doesn't read MgoBlog or Scout 24 hours a day.

Damn you Cowher, DAMN YOU TO HELL! How DARE you have a national focus and call a spade a spade!

WIN!

And he's got that freak "I gotta look, and look AGAIN!" thing going on.

Yes But

They've accomlished their mission: Being talked about on blogs. Getting hits on theirs.

And of course, the easiest part--getting Michigan fans jacked up over absolutely nothing. AGAIN.

Rot In Hell?

That's pretty harsh. You didn't know him, never will.

But I bet you call yourself one hell of a christian.

Here's Who I'd Like to See

Jessica Biehl, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Anniston, Scarlett Johansen, and Englebert Humperdinck.

I Love This

Someone is going to decide--NEXT WEEK (Possibly)! And, another guy is gonna decide too (possibly)! If not, he might do it sometime else (possibly)!

Wow! I PAY for this stuff (possibly)!!!

Don't Believe Anyone Else

But they have a new parking lot right next to the stadium no one knows about. Just drive up to the East Side, about 15 minutes (or even less if the team starts sucking again) before kickoff and you'll get right in.

I Want to See

109, 901 threads on "I just got my tix!" AND I want to know where ALL 109,901 are sitting.

I'm going to find that goddamm seat that is being held for Fritz Crisler one way or another--and I'm going to sit in that fucker.

I'm Positive

Loeffler would love to hang out on a message board. Yeah.

That way, if one day he slipped and said something totally anti-Michigan like, "I'm not too sure things are going the right way these days" 900 million zealots will call him a "Douchebag," insult everything and everyone associated with him, and pronounce him an EX-Michigan Man--and he can read it all for himself!

A Painful Read Indeed

But not any more painful than 98% of the threads here. And not any more painful than all the "Guess what THIS asshole said about Michigan" posts.

But seeing how close Ernest Shazor came to blocking that field goal only goes to suport my theory that Carr was pretty much THAT FARKING CLOSE so many times to a Tom Osborne-esque career.

It's funny how a few futile punt formations, an improperly placed elbow by Earnest Shazor, and a controversial (though in my opinion correct) helmet to helmet penalty call, and a couple other close plays separate Lloyd Carr between unquestionable HOF Legend and SATAN WHO HATEs RICH RODRIGUEZ AND EATS HIS CHILDREN.

WTF Moment

If Rule 1 is not to talk about Mgopoints, Rule 2 must be to talk about Mgopoints.

Seriously, the most overplayed and completely ignored theme on this board is the "don't talk about points" thingy. They are discussed as if they are the raison d'etre of this place.

Sorry

But I can't understand anything on this blog anymore unless it is accompanied by an incredibly illegible chart depicting something like the number of yards Kevin Koger gained on 3rd down while scratching his nuts and the frequency of the migration of cardinals through Yancy's Butt, Ohio every spring--and how it's all going to equate to Michigan going 9-3 this year and beating Arkansas in the Popeil's Pocket Fisherman Cranberry Bowl.

This Is Disappointing

I thought that to a Michigan Fan here on MgoBlog, a "car problem" meant that the OP's chauffeur had called in sick and he couldn't find the keys to the limo OR the Bentley.

Things really are tough all over, eh, sport?

Okla-Georgia

Funny how these bowl game anomalies are held up as examples of how Rodriguez's system and eye for talent work, and also held up as examples of how recruiting for stars is bunk.

Are these the same Georgia and Oklahoma teams that are constantly held up as underachieving, overrated posers? Yes. I mean, Georgia is in the SEC, which sucks arse and is only good because ESPN loves them (and HATES MICHIGAN! RAWR). Oklahoma was in the shitty Big 12 with no competition save Texas, amiright?  HOWEVER, when we need to discuss recruiting, all the sudden they are super powers that Rodriguez's lil two star speedy midgets blasted.

I don't know, but I'd be willing to bet the national champs and the runners up over the last decade or so have the highest rated recruiting classes.

As for Mike Williams? How do we know he was overrated, or a "miss"--his coaching since he came to college has sucked, and he's not had any continuity (like a lot of Michigan defenders)--and Rodriguez blew by either hiring Shafer OR firing him. At any rate, Williams does not represent any sort of "data" about stars or the recruiting services--he's been fucked by choosing Michigan at a time when Michigan had its head up its ass.

diesel

What does reading Brian's blogs have to do with anything? And yes, I do.

And NO, I do not think they are gospel.

My disagreements with the current sentiments of much of Michigan Fandom encompass as much a "scorched Earth" policy as those who ardently support Rodriguez do with dissenting opinions. This has become as polarizing a debate as any I have ever seen.

So many are willing to go down with the HMS Rodriguez--and it is about to lose its main mast--and so many want to snuff out those who question Rodriguez. I just don't get it. But those of us who choose to speak out, and question, criticize, and even gather around the gallows know that the very thing that makes America great: freedom of speech and civil discourse--are at stake here!

Our fight is larger than Rodriguez! It is the willingness to speak UP AND OUT and make our disse nting  voices heard! Even though we will be neg-banged because we do NOT believe our "helmets got wings" right now!

The very future of this great land is at stake, diesel.  America BEGS for us to remain steadfast in demanding that dissenting opinion, even here on MgBlog with its feature of Populist Points, be heard, loudly and clearly!

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord he is stamping out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored...

Hijacking a Thread

Does anyone think it's fucking stupid (and the height of American hypocrisy) that a kid can go off to college, get married, start having kids, go to Iraq and get himself killed---but can't have a fucking drink at the age of 18, 19, or 20?

And why the hell are we worried about notre Dame? Seriously? And what Kelly is going to do? Seriously? And on a side note, did kelly have a constant shit-storm surrounding his hire, or has this been the first incident?

It's pathetic that our fan base has reduced itself to whining about what happened at Notre Dame and then fabricating all sorts of bullshit about what the press might or might not do if it were Michigan.

People keep hoping this shit will just go away, and then our own fan base keeps obsessing over it. Which is it?

Don't Know if you Know This

But it's actually a gif, with Christopher Walken blowing RM's head off with a shotgun from a limo with a Burger King sticker on it.

It's quite funny--and it's Walken.

EDIT: I see it as a still shot of Ronny Mac--and I don't get the embedded videos and a lot of the pix here. Must need an Adobe update or something. So I can't tell if you guys can see it as the gif, or just the picture.

Dude

Consider it an honor to be neg-banged here. It means you are objective, intelligent, funny, don't worry about being in the cool club, and most of all, don't go through the blog pos-banging your own posts.

Detroit News Forums

Tiger Talk on the News forums is pretty good as well--of course, it's a message board, not a blog. Lots of die-hard fans there and good discussion.

Revisionism Is Great, Eh?

Funny how the last two years have convinced the most ardent supporters of Rich Rodriguez that stars don't mean shit anymore. Tailoring your arguments to fit the failings of Rodriguez and his staff (as if THEY wouldn't want 30 five-star recruits) is no way to go 'bout life, son.

The whole mindset of Michigan Fandom has been warped by this sick obsession with defending Rodriguez as if he were a hall of fame legend about to be sent to the gas chamber.

Dude makes $3 Mill per year, and has turned Michigan football to shit. You guys that have all the sudden turned every conventional wisdom topsy-turvy to justify what has happened, in the hopes that "Our helmets have wings" and "The future is so bright we need sunglasses" will be right back full circle the minute Rodriguez is either canned, and Harbaugh comes in and recruits his dick off, OR (yes, I do believe he can do it) he starts winning and GULP WHAAAAT? Michigan starts landing a bevy of four and five star recruits.

I'd Also Like

To know just who and where these supposed head coaching gigs are that he could have had. I'm not sure Smith enjoys any sort of great or even good reputation as a quarterbacks coach, offensive guru, or anything besides being a decent recruiter.

And the uptick in recruiting is in no small part probably due to him now being at Michigan.

I Care

What Tate showed last year, because he was pretty much a one-man offense. And one thing I, like most others seem to be doing, is NOT ignoring the possibility that Tate will improve substantially.

Crow

Negative on both counts.

This Game

Was very close to becoming one that Tressel could have blown by taking it easy on Michigan. I'm not sure Pryor and the offense could have "turned it on" had Michigan gotten lucky and found itself winning in the fourth quarter.

But alas, OSU simply was and is light years better than Michigan.

Thanks Don

Even though points aren't supposed to be talked about--they are the most talked about thing on this blog.

AND you have summed up very nicely why points has turned this blog into little more than a Groupthink cheerleading romper room.

Puss as Goodbye?

On what planet?

My Thoughts

Points aren't supposed to be discussed. I'm as concerned with points as I am what you use to clip your toenails with.
