Anyone know where Al Montoya is today? He came out early and was like a lottery pick by the NY Rangers.....but I heard they traded him, and havent heard where he is. Shouldnt he be in the bigs by now?

He was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes with Marcel Hossa in Feb of 2008. He resigned in July and stated the season in the AHL for San Antonio Rampage. He played one game for the Coyotes and got a shutout win. Right now i think he is still in the AHL with SA.

San Antonio's roster (http://www.sarampage.com/team/players/) but doesn't show up in the box score (http://theahl.com/stats/official-game-report.php?game_id=1007205). Who does show up in the box score? Chris Summers, with his "first career" goal. I know I shouldn't put it in quotes, but I had too... :-( The game summary (http://www.sarampage.com/news/?article_id=890) makes it sound like a pretty impressive play by our former captain. Good for him. I'm glad he, at least, was playing Thursday and tonight...

Being a Rangers fan, I was really excited when the Rangers drafted him, as their goalie at the time was Mike Dunham (yeah idk who he is either). I kept thinking that Montoya would come up soon and then all of a sudden Henrik Lundqvist came out of nowhere and the Rangers traded Montoya. Haven't heard anything about him since.
