WAY OT: Interesting Proposition Wager
Disclaimer: This would never be for real money, because I don't do stuff like that. That's ridiculous. Just thought it would be fun to have something else to think about today besides recruiting.

Just had a friend offer me this one:
Steph Curry (averaging 28 ppg) plays OKC this Saturday. Carolina plays in the Super Bowl this Sunday (against Denver). Who scores more?
Leaning toward taking Curry, but curious what my fellow degenerate MgoBetters have to say before i pull the trigger. It's a tough one!

Curry....Denver wont score over 20. I have a feeling it will be an ugly final game for Sheriff Manning

I interpreted the wager as Curry vs. Carolina (not Denver)

That's correct --- Curry vs. Carolina.

Don't gamble Locks - it's not your forte, knowutimsayin?!

I thought you said you're not actually betting, so why do you need to pull a trigger?

We're gentlemen. It's that kind of bet.

Ohhh... gentlemen? You should probably be at RCMB then!

I don't know if OKC plays defense yet. And Denver has a healthy top 5 defense.
February 2nd, 2016 at 2:42 PM ^
Curry.
Dever's defense is awesome.
Carolina could still win 27-10 in a boring dominating game and Curry gets his 30+ like he usually does.

That's funny Yost, 27-10 is exactly what I forecast. Then, just to take wacky things into account I added another TD to Denver (kick return?) & another FG to Carolina, and suddenly the under 45.5 I feel so strongly about was in question.
So, the question we must all ask ourselves every day, but particularly with NSD & SB approaching - will wacky things happen?
Oh, Carolina wins a no-doubter, Curry outscores them unless that wacky thing happens...

Seems like Curry is the best bet here. Denver has a pretty stout D. As it stands, OKC is 6th worst D vs PGs and both teams play at a high pace. It should be a close game with Westy and KD on the other side, so the risk of Curry putting up big numbers in the first half only to rest in the second is minimal.

but Saturday night, primetime national game, that could be Golden State 130-OKC 128 in 3 overtimes. Or it could go the way Golden State has treated all other contenders recently and be GS 119-OKC 91. Either way, Curry goes for like 34.
