Update on Larry Prout Jr.
Larry's mom asked for prayers this morning on Twitter, which I saw because Land of 10 posted about his setback.
The good news is that Larry is out of surgery after a washout of his spine. The infection went all the way up and down his spine and he had a very high fever.
As most of you know, Larry became a member of the football team last year. He was born with spina bifida, choacal extrophy, massive omphalocele, short gut syndrome and several other illnesses that have resulted in more than 90 surgeries during his life.

All the mom asked for was prayers, and I noticed that she has been retweeting people's encouragements so maybe encourage him that way as well.

Wishing for the absolute best for him. Strongest kid out there
we were limited to a single honorary captaincy for the entire season.
Or are you just taking a deeply affecting, emotional human interest story with no political aspect whatsoever and being a jackass flamethrower for no obvious reason?
"Let's make Larry Prout an honorary captain for a game this season."
It's cleaner as a title.
I'd love to see both, too. Maybe Larry could do it as a video feed if he's not well enough to attend in person.
Eh, I understood what you were saying. You were just saying that you wanted Larry to be a captain, nothing more or less. It would be awesome if he is one this year.
We have honorary captains for all the home games. So there should be room for both Obama, LPJ and five other folks.
Geez, I can take a hint. All you have to do is ask - I'll take one of those open captain spots if it helps.
So that big Larry can be there pulling for the good guys. We need inspirations in life like Larry.

Larry Prout Jr. (and his family) seems to be made of blue twisted steel and is most definitely a dude. Here's to a speedy recovery for the young man!
