There WILL be 2 and as many as five 5-7 bowl teams!!
Good lord. It has begun.
One bowl projection has 5-7 Illinois vs USC.
It’s official: there will be at least two 5-7 bowl teams this year! And perhaps as many as five! Plan accordingly

I'll watch as often as possible.
The 5-7 issue (or 6-6, for that matter) reminds me of when the Virginia High School League changed its football playoff format, and ended up with an 0-10 team qualifying because they didn't have anyone else to complete the bracket.
Side note: This is the first time in years I woke up mad about a sporting event from the day before. At this advanced age it's usually easy to move on, and be more concerned about being around for the next game as opposed to worrying about whether "my" team won. We'll get em next year. Or the year after.

All teams can have practices in December to compensate.

For instance, Akron is 7-6 and will go to a bowl of some sort, despite only beating crap teams. OTOH, you've got Nebraska with seven close loses against much better opponents, plus a win against a possible playoff school.

Hell just this past week a women tried to pass the fitness tests to become a firefighter. She failed, claimed racism, and was given a job as a firefighter.
This country is going to hell in a hand basket.

A bowl game should be a reward for a good season. A few mediocre teams might sneak in, but when you've got losing teams playing in bowls, the whole thing is cheapened.
If the NCAA had any integrity, they would start paring away the bowl field until they were down to about a couple dozen.
But they don't, of course, so here we are...

I will never complain about too much college football in December.

We'll all be griping in 2 weekends about not having any college football to watch. I would watch Indiana or maybe even Southwestern Idaho State Technical Community College for The Blind play football if that's all that is available.

Everybody wants a piece of the pie no matter how small the slice. The questions is why teams would want to lose money on this. Those 5-7 teams are not going to get paid enough to cover the costs associated with sending their team to some no name Bowl that no "fan" will attend.

I don't like it that 6-6 or eevn 7-5 teams get to go to postseason bowls and there are entirely too many bowls.
Having said that, I do think that any bowl featuring Indiana this year will be fun to watch...I would love to see an Indiana/Texas Tech bowl, for example.

Unfortunately, I don't see any way Oregon falls down that far in the pecking order.

Watching college football is better than meth and it is less likely to kill you. Bring on the crappy bowls. I'll watch 'em. You can rake leaves or whatnot.

But no quibbles about such things as the College Invitational Tournament or the National Invitational Tournament? Or the Battle 4 Atlantis? Or the 20-something other ridiculous college basketball tournaments that fewer people watch than watch bowl games?
Sorry, I'll get off your lawn now.
