Stevie Brown

I'm very happy for Stevie Brown earning captain status and the improvements he made this season. Considering where he was at last year, it was great to see him excel at his new position. I'm eager to see what he does tomorrow.

More imformative dirty diaper reports please

is that you should have titled your post: "I am happy that Stevie Brown was named a captain yesterday because I think it is a well deserved honor based on his year over year improvement. The position change really worked to his advantage." and then your actual post could have read. "I look forward to seeing what he does at the next level." Is that really too much to ask?

Gordie - I am willing to take a negbang in these instances, BECAUSE: (a) negbangs feel rather good; and (b) I hope that next time the OP posts a topic (BTW, i'm 100% in agreement with his sentiments), he will remember that a more informative thread title is helpful to the rest of the posters. If I were being a true dick, I wouldn't have linked to the FAQ. It's not being a dick, this is sincere. I'm trying to be helpful. That is all. EDIT: In the past two weeks, Brian has posted the exact same thing I did in response to a non-informative thread title. Again, trying to be helpful. That is all.

I think he has had a great year all things considered. Who would have thought after last year that he would be our best linebacker this year. Ezeh and Mouton showed a lot of promise toward the end of the year and Brown was.....well....having a terrible time. This year he really stepped up and they couldn't have picked a better captian ime.

Stevie Brown was almost universally tagged by Michigan fans as Reason No. 1 for last season's disaster. He certainly got the John Navare Treatment, and then some. I mean, I guess I can understand it--why hold a multimillionaire coach accountable when there is no shortage of 20 year old kids to blame for all of life's problems?

2008 and 2007 The Horror which was also atrtibuted to Stevie Brown, even though he may have not deserved it. Stevie's bounce back this year is remarkable and had it not been for our overall team defense suckiness, I think he might have been a candidate for All-Big Ten honors, maybe 2nd team or honorable mention. At this point, I would not be surprised to see Stevie on an NFL roster next year as a special teams ace or maybe even nickle linebacker in the Cato June / Ian Gold mold.

..one of the main things I hoped for was that the "oft-maligned Stevie Brown" would find redemption in his senior year. The year hasn't gone the way most of us hoped it would, but at least Brown has been a great story. No matter how badly he played last year, he has always given everything he has to the Maize and Blue. Thankfully, he has finally been recognized for it. Congratulations and a big thank you to Stevie Brown.

I was told by all the naysayers that this coaching staff cant develop players. You guys must be overrating his success after a round of kool aid drinking. amirite?

You can't equate them finding his correct position with them improving him. Maybe they did, but as an onlooker you can't know that. Now if Williams wins the Heisman, then you've got something going there. I believe they're just fine at developing players, they just like to have their perfect mold, which is fine, they want to be in there comfort zone. Just makes for a steeper down turn before the assumed resurgence to Texas level success on a long term basis. He built a team at WVU, you can't do that without developement.

....title your post "BIG HOOTERS" cuz then the thread police on here would have been really peeved to find out it was only about Stevie Brown! FYI, don't mix big hooters with Stevie Brown. But, I am sure Stevie has no problem tackling those.

Stevie Brown obviously has worked hard. Every time I have seen him in an interview he has come off as well-spoken, sincere, and a good representative of the team and university. That's enough for me. Now go out with a bang and win this game - it can happen.

I don't think Stevie did much to turn anything around. I think we're finally using him in the way that best fits his skills, which are quite good. I take my hat off to him for all of the grief he took, and am proud of him as a captain on this team. Good luck "Big Play" Stevie Brown.
