Bartelstein is the source.  Thus, it is not annonymous bud.  The only reason my friends name is not mentioned is because it has no relevance.  Good try though bud.  Im not trying to prove anything or break a legitimate story.  Just using discretion to contribute helpful information to an online community.  I know what was said, but if you want to just decide I am a liar, I am really going to be crushed that I wasn't taken seriously by a message board commenter.

I hope so too.  There is nothing I want more than Mitch McGary in a Michigan uniform too.  I underestimated how hostile some people would be to seeing information that isn't favorable.  Like I said, I'm not trying to prove anything.  If what I said is considered to be unreliable, don't read into it.  All it is is a factual disseminance of information that carries zero implications.

I have always thought Izzo's tag line should be, "MSU, where 5-star recruits go to become solid Big Ten players." But just 1 other early entry in the past 10 years, and 5 total, is crazy! We are talking about Payne, Dawson, Roe, was Paul Davis a 5-star?, along with piles of 40-80 ranked players, and none of them blew up enough to demand leaving early.

I'm well aware of the 'get your degree' argument, but, seriously, given those numbers why would any highly ranked HS player go to MSU? I don't remember any of their guys being a 1st rounder and coming back

I suspect GRIII is gone as well, but why a bunch of grown men and women have some silly desire to break the news "first" about what a teenager/early 20's kid is doing is one of the weirder aspects of journalism.

I'm willing to go double or nothing with my current mgopoints that MSU misses the tourney. Any takers? Mods: can we make this happen?

Can't we all just appreciate Nik, GRIII and Mitch for the incredible things they did for M; instead of playing amateur NBA scouts and over-analyzing their respective levels of readiness for the league?  My bet is that all three leave, and all of them make an impact during their initial contracts (and stay out of the news for the wrong reasons).  Be proud they chose to come to M and be thankful for the two years we had them, for that B1G Conf Champ and those two deep tourney runs wouldn't have happened without them. Good programs and coaches find a way to overcome early departures ... and we definitley have both!
