I thought that was pretty interesting. Who's hating on BYU in the Independents? Probably Notre Dame fans, right?
from the MWC, actually when I was there called the WAC, BYU was hated for sure. From a football stance, it was the "rules" about their players that resulted in 23 yr old college sophomores. In the swimming world, we didn't like them because they never went to the conference party afterwards, that always involved a lot of drinking, for what we viewed as obvious reasons. BUT, they finally showed up for one my senior year, and doggoneit if those guys didn't win the damn drinking relay. Sheesh.
It is either Notre Dame fans who believe they are the One True Independent or there are some serious sour grapes eminating from the Mountain West faithful, the conference that BYU football left a few years ago. Other than that, with the sole exception of Utah State perhaps wanting the Old Wagon Wheel back, I can't think of anyone BYU has so offended.

There's probably a correlation between the highest pct "dislike" teams and winning pct. The "like" teams is probably random.
Not really. It would seem to me that affinity for a team probably has a far greater bandwagon effect than hatred. If you have only followed CFB for a few years and are looking for a bandwagon team, MSU would seem like a solid choice. Hatred for a team likely takes longer to develop, so it makes sense that there is little hatred for MSU, since they traditionally weren't given much thought at all by most CFB fans.
People appreciate that they are beating the most disliked teams.

In the most hated category in B10? the OSU fans voted for Michigan and the Michigan fans voted for OSU and the REST of the league voted for Olieo St as well by a 2-1 margin LANDSLIDE....for us Wolverines it just validates what weve always said/thought!
It's not just the B1G that hates Ohio State. People from all walks of life have little trouble in finding a reason to dislike that team and their fans.

Eh, I certainly think it's possible that Hoke's gone at the end of the season; let's say the team drops at ND, at MSU and at OSU. That's definitely not out of the realm of possibility. If they win every other game, Hoke might keep his job, but if they drop one of those sleeper games (PSU or Maryland at home would probably be the most likely upset picks) I think he's gone at the end of the year.
I very obviously don't hope that's going to happen, but I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that coach Hoke is on the hotseat a little going into this season and some rivalry losses are going to crank up the temperature.

However, 1928 (aka 1927...and possibly other handles) has a history of inflammatory commenting with no sign of remorse or desire to try and get along with his fellow MGoBloggers. I think this current profile of his could be close to being sent to Bolivia along with his other ones.

How does someone hate Army and Navy? It's almost Un-American to hate one of those teams. It could be members of other military schools but I dont't think they hate each other due to the respect they have for one another.

Indeed. The same goes for Air Force. When we played them at the Big House in 2012, that was the first time I can remember there being no boos for the opponent during pregame. The crowd cheered, understandably.
