Question: Recruits at spring game?

Submitted by youre my boy BLUE on
As I was reading Varsity Blue today, I noticed today's entry talked about how UM could get several more commits. Does anybody know what recruits will be at the game and which are likely to commit? Thanks for the help in advance.

Stephen Hopkins will be there and mat commit if he likes how he is going to be used. I know a bunch of the instate guys like mylan hicks will be there,\.

It's never set in stone, but some of the names I believe are scheduled as of now to be there: Stephen Hopkins Brennan Clay Cassius McDowell Christian Pace Torrian Wilson Jibreel Black Scott McVey Marvin Robinson LaTwan Anderson Ricardo Miller will also be there, and I'm sure a bunch of the usual suspects from instate will be there as well.

There have been hints that M-Rob might take the plunge the next time he's in AA. I wouldn't be waiting for it, though. I could see a commitment from a guy like Pace, maybe. Other than that, I tend to lean toward no other commitments. Of course it's possible that there's someone I missed or one of the guys I DID list is just blown away. Overall though, with the emphasis RR and staff are putting into the entire atmosphere and magnitude of the Spring Game, I definitely expect all the recruits there to give glowing reviews about their visits, and I'd bet some of the ones in attendance will sign on the dotted line for Michigan next February.

Before we crucify the coach, I'd like to hear his reasoning for wanting Marvin to go to OSU. As much as I'd like him to to go to Michigan, it's not exactly an evil thing for a high school coach to suggest to one of his players that he should take a long, hard look at a premiere top five program in the nation that has put quite a few defensive players in the NFL during Jim Tressel's regime and is also consistently playing in BCS games at the end of the year. Let's not sit here and act like OSU would be a terrible choice for a top recruit play at.

He's not looking out for Marvin, he's looking out for the school he's a fan of. He's a Buckeye, and he wants his star player to be a Buckeye, and he basically threatened to bench Marvin during the playoffs last year if he committed to Michigan when he visited for the MSU game. So yeah, he deserves to be crucified. Coaches that try to blatantly steer players to THEIR school of choice don't deserve the benefit of the doubt. And don't bring up Thomas Wilcher, unless there's a big mixup and Joseph Barksdale is entering his 3rd year in the Michigan program and we're all looking for Youtube videos of Vernon Gholston's stellar UM career.
