Practically OT: ACC - Big Ten challenge
Want a break from speculation on the football coach (and all related topics)? Here's what happened in Game One of this year's ACC-Big Ten challenge:

Way to hold serve, Gophers! I'd call that a disaster. At one point UVa made 9 of 10 3-pointers.
This is one of the few years that the Big Ten has any hope of beating the ACC. This looked like a win going in to the game. Oh, well.

That minnesota loss is going to make it very hard to win.

Looked like they were going to run away with it at one point and then choke job. God damn Gophers. I liked our chances against Clemson until we laid that egg against UTEP.

On the bright side, seeing Minnesota have such a terrible perimeter defense is encouraging for our prospects. They had that great run in the Big Ten Tournament and went to the NCAA's but we crushed them twice last year. I still don't think we'll beat them, though.

Their perimeter defense suffered without Al Nolen. I expect he'll be back for conference play.

Hopefully we'll find the same kind of accuracy from behind the arc this year that UVA had tonight. I have faith in Beilein for this season.

10 for 13 is seriously lucky.

UNC is down this year. Caught part of the game against College of Charleston, and they are relying on two or three true freshmen again this year. Their backcourt is a defensive liability. Illinois could get one for the B10. (But I'll be watching it at a bar in Chapel Hill, and I suppose I should root for the home team,)

Would like to have that one back.

I was happy when our conference won for the first time last year (finally!) even though Michigan didn't win its game.
The matchups seem tougher for the Big Ten this year and Minnesota's choke job/Virginia's hot shooting makes winning much tougher.
I hope the Big Ten can pull off a couple of upsets (including the Wolverines) and give us something fun to root for the next two nights.

'M' over Clemson.
IU over BC and/or Purdue over Va Tech
That's pretty much what needs to happen.
I don't think MSU beats Duke, Penn State likely won't beat the Terps, meh...

I think MSU has a very good chance of beating Duke, but yeah, this was a game the B10 needed if it was going to win the title for another year. Ah well, means maybe Minny isn't as good as first thought.

Minn put us in a hole. We still got a chance. The Acc looks down this year. Go BLUE!
