With Lou's lisp, he'll be saying "shit" every time he tries to pronounce that.

University of Chicago, lays in wait for 60 years. Quietly builds its program, no one notices they hire Gruden and have 10 5 stars recruited and a massive 80,000 stadium is unveiled that was built under the guise it was a Nuclear accelerator. They come back to dominate the Big 10.

Yeah the Great UC Maroons are playing in the ever tough UAA in DIII. They have compiled a 1-2 record but are waiting to release their secret weapon, a unknown RB with a unheard of 3.9 40. Simply amazing.
October 8th, 2009 at 10:59 PM ^
that was a 3.9 on a 4.0, not a 3.9 40.

Damn media always screwing things up

The University of Chicago Maroons, playing at Amos Alonzo Stagg field.
Actually, the joke about the number of people at their games is part serious. I think that the prospect of needing a stadium like the ones in Ann Arbor, Columbus, Madison and Minneapolis is one of a number of factors that drove Chicago, an historic football power under Stagg, to abandon big time football and leave the Western Conference/Big Ten.
And no, they'd NEVER play in Wrigley Field like the Bears did for a few years. No self-respecting south sider wants to have anything to do with Wrigleyville.

the U of Chicago's decision to de-emphasize athletics had much to do with how big or small their football stadium needed to be.

Why not add U of Phoenix? Have an away game in Glendale every other year.
