Paying players
What happens when NIL laws go into effect? Do schools like osu, Clemson, bama lose their recruiting advantage? It this staff capable of putting together a competent game plan? Is it the xs and os or the jimmy and joes?
Why are we so bad at football? This looked like a hoke/richrod era game
Hot take, flame away

You can pay me
I will do stuff
And things

Butt stuff?

Dude, you crack me up man...would love to hang out and have a beer with you brother!
BTW, if we pay players, hire someone for that role, I don't trust Harbaugh to get it right.

I think Hatter already has that job. I hope the recruits can keep up with him.
November 7th, 2020 at 11:08 PM ^
Worse than, hoke never would have had guys offsides 8 times in a game. At least he coached fundamentals

I totally agree that Don Brown has completely stopped teaching D linemen how to watch the football at the snap. This has nothing to do with the players and everything to do with a lack of teaching/coaching. Don Brown is an imbecile and all the previous defenses were a mirage!

More specifically, Shaun Nua is way underperforming as the DL coach. Players are undisciplined. Little pressure on the QB from the front 4. Can't recruit. He's been a bust.

This. The dropoff from Mattison is striking. In addition, he appears to be a shitty recruiter. Needs to go.

Perhaps we need to assemble rich rod, hoke and Harbaugh on the same staff and with their combined prowess we will finally get back to Indiana’s level

I mean, if we swapped Gattis and Brown out for RR and Hoke, I'd definitely tune in.

I think it’s time to end the “end of OT season”. Reading the covid and political threads was less painful than talking about football.
November 8th, 2020 at 12:01 AM ^
I know you're half joking, but I'm right there with you. There is just little left to say about this team or coaching staff. On the one hand, covid-19 might keep this season from spiraling out of control. On the other hand, if it does, that also probably means we don't get a basketball season. !$@#& 2020.
November 8th, 2020 at 12:07 AM ^
Didn’t you announce sometime recently that your beloved Motherland had developed a CV vaccine? How’s that going? Send us some...I trust you.
November 7th, 2020 at 11:37 PM ^
Yes. As soon as everyone is indirectly paying players, all of the top recruits will stop wanting to play for winning programs that develop NFL talent and they will all come to Michigan.
November 7th, 2020 at 11:59 PM ^
If Harbaugh stays he has to get rid of the whole defensive staff. Hire Elite recruiters that can coach. I would also hire Mike Hart as running back coach. He would be an awesome recruiter. I know that will never happen. Jay Harbaugh is not a good running back coach.
November 8th, 2020 at 12:10 AM ^
It’s hard to imagine but it seems to me Harbaugh has flamed out in AA.
November 8th, 2020 at 12:18 AM ^
hasnt flamed out quite yet...the dumpster is still burning
November 8th, 2020 at 11:05 AM ^
Personally think Jaybaugh is doing fine in coaching and recruiting. The Rbs aren't going to do anything when the play calling calls for them to run into a human wall. Corum is a speedy little bastard, so lets send the little fella in and run him straight into the line instead of getting him outside or throwing him a screen pass. Whats an RPO again?

I should get paid for watching the last two games!
November 8th, 2020 at 4:37 AM ^
Stop with the Jimmy and Joe’s. That argument may work against OSU. We lost to a horrible MSU squad. They could recruit and develop to beat MSU and at least be competitive with OSU. We can’t do either of those things.
NIL isn’t going to have this team focused and playing intensely.
November 8th, 2020 at 9:34 AM ^
i’m sure there will be millions of dollars in endorsements out there for players who have to ride the bench for a couple years watching walk-ons who practice the right way get punked by other teams.
watch out, ohio state!
November 8th, 2020 at 1:00 PM ^
Schools like OSU, Clemson, and Bama will always find a way to pay $1 more. So no, they won’t lose their advantage.

I think it's absurd we still cling to this idea that the only reason we can't compete with the likes of those three schools is $$$. Do programs have a few $ going to players in need? absolutely but this idea that there are salaries or guys are openly paid to go to a school is just fucking idiotic. Why are these schools not under violation? NO ORGANIZATION can keep a secret like that, it can't. It's like the old adage goes...Three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead. Kids run their mouths, they like to brag. I mean Chase Young was suspended for multiple games for accepting help for a flight from a family friend, do we really think that They would let shit like that transpire to their greatest defensive player ever in his last season in a historic year? gtfoh. We can't compete with them because we can't recruit like they do...why you ask? because winning breeds winning and kids want to go to places that they have the best shot to win and get to the next level, THAT is why these programs continue to become unstoppable. We can't compete with them because the studs we do get aren't being developed the way they need to be. It is not because we have such rigorous academic standards that won't allow these players in. I can tell you right now if justin fields wanted to come to UM he could have, hell his first offer was from Harvard. If Garrett Wilson had wanted to come here he could have, Chris Olave, the Bosa brothers, I can go on. Kids view are program like a throw back, we are stuck in a bygone era when 3 yards and a cloud of dust won games. Don Brown is too stubborn to change, Josh Gattis is NOT an offensive genius, it's like we are throwing shit up against a wall and seeing what sticks. It is pretty clear at this point that the offensive play calling was coming from Locksley when he was at Alabama and not Gattis.

This OP is a little all over the place lol..
It’ll be interesting to see if they attempt to implement a salary cap of some sort that would stifle UMs potential financial advantage.

No the staff isn’t capable of doing anything with NIL. They can’t even keep the team from jumping offsides 5 times a game.
