OT: USMNT v. Guatamala

Anyone have a link to a stream of the game?  I'm not anywhere close to a bar showing the game.

I'm an Arsenal fan, but there was a time where I would pay attention to West Ham to see how Spector was doing.  I remember either last season or the year before that when he was suiting up as a CM for the Hammers, which showed you both how talented he is (he just can't play well consistently, too many costly errors) and how troubled West Ham was.  I'm sure you were glad to see him leave though.

Anyway, I hope West Ham can stay in the premeirship next year, they're a likeable team.

Not to mention our shaky defense the last few outings.  Would be nice to see a good overall performance heading into the summer break.  Also have heard rumors of a friendly at Azteca in Mid-August.  That would be a nice test heading into the the 2nd set of qualifiers.

With them hosting the 2018 World Cup, it got me thinking about any MGoBloggers who have attended a World Cup.  Anyone headed to Brazil?  It's a bucket list thing for me, but really have no idea how to go about planning the trip.

Just a heads up, very few people there speak English (its not like going to a European country). A close friend of mine went to Brazil during the summer and he said his group would have been completely lost without a guide. I'm actually thinking about studying in Germany in June of 2014, though I may have trouble seeing the USA games, I figure it would be worth it to take in the soccer "atmosphere" during the world cup.

Giving the WC to new places is something they have emphasized the past 20 years. Gave it to SKorea/Japan in 2002 (first on Asian soil), South Africa in 2010 (first on African soil), Brazil in 2014 (first time in SA since the 70s), Russia in 2018 (second in Asia) and Qatar in 2022 (first in Middle East). Not surprised.

Do any of you guys know that if the US wins its group is it a single elimination tournament to determine the winners of the CONCACAF? (like the world cup format, where if the US loses on a fluke game they dont make the WC)

another thread, but dempsey dives way too much...he has to stop doing that.  .

also, nearly half way in, it seems like guatamela's strategy is having the goalie punt kick it the entire way down the field.  its like elementary school playground soccer.  unfortunately, US hasnt done much better...

Fabian Johnson is really a God send.  LB was such a weak position for us, but now it looks like a strength with playing like he is now.

Decent first half in what is always trying circumstances.

Donovan's gotta get better on his set piece delivery, though. Think he's created one dangerous situation from 6-8 corners and free kicks.

Looking good so far -- tough place to play for the Yanks.  A win in Central America is always nice.  I wouldn't be surprised if we parked the bus for the second half, and I wouldn't care, as long as we come away with a W.
