OT: Tennessee ass-kissing

Submitted by Tha Stunna on
Why do I see so much of it on ESPN/Rivals? Lane Kiffin told his fans that he would beat Florida; he didn't. He accused Florida of recruiting violations, which they didn't have. He covered the spread; that's good I guess. And he had a good to great defensive performance with a defense that was #3 in the nation last year; wow. This game nicely puts his team at 1-2, compared to their 5-7 season last year; what an improvement. Is there something I'm missing here? I'm hardly a Florida fan, but I don't see this as a moral victory.

Tebow/Meyer is God. Therefore anyone who vaguely stops them has made the greatest defensive effort in the history of football. I fully expect a 2005 USC like treatment of Florida this year.

I agree, Bum: and that's exactly why I don't expect Florida to make it to the NC game. Their asses are being kissed too much, and the players have to start believing they have odorless feces sometime. I think Florida may lose two this year; that will be enough to keep them out of the big game.

Well, he does have this: But the big reason is that he comes across as a jerk who mouths off about recruiting violations and how he is going to destroy teams in the SEC, but his team is consistently outplayed and he had to report a million recruiting violations this year. Plus, Al Davis fired him and thought he was a snake, which means quite a bit when it comes from a dead guy.

Lane Kiffin is the most unprepared coach I've heard talk. Florida beat UT 30-6 last year up in Knoxville. This Tenn was supposed to be not as good and playing in Gainesville. So technically, yeah better. 3 freaking SEC teams in the top 5, give me a break.

I guess I'm just bothered that of the 3 SEC teams in the top 5, Ole Miss seems the least qualified. I think they are a top-15 team, but last year was marked by one huge win (Florida) along with some middling wins and a couple of tough losses. They went 9-4, 5-3 in the SEC, but those 5 wins came against teams with a combined 16-24 record in the SEC (and if you subtract Florida's 7-1 mark, you have a 9-23 mark). It was a nice story, but Ole Miss should not be ranked ahead of teams like PSU and even OSU.

of four more losses this year in my estimation. Auburn Georgia at Alabama at Mississippi And you can bet Spurrier (S. Carolina) is going to rollout several dynamite kegs for the Oct 31st game vs. Tenn. Tennessee needs a quarterback like no tomorrow, but they have no one. I've come to the conclusion that Lane Kiffin told Tajh Boyd to hit the road (Clemson) because he desperately wanted to see his statuesque drop back QB (Crompton) throw 28 interceptions in the 2009 regular season (Crompto already has 7 after 3 freaking games).
