OT- NFL Conferences
So i just noticed an AFC East preview on ESPN.com. It's on the front page if you want to check it out. However, what i got to thinking is while I know we will be focused on Michigan, I was wondering if there are any conferences in the NFL that people will be following. I for one follow the Lions and therefore the NFC North, but we all know what a futile and painful existence that is.
As I was reading the article i realized that aside from the fact the AFC East is incredibly competitive and worth following in its own right, it also is the one conference that features a plethora of high profile former Wolverines, David Harris, Braylon Edwards, Jake Long, Chad Henne, and of course Tom Brady. Therefore I will be sure to follow the conference quite closely, any one else have a favorite conference?
I'm from Detroit, but I'm an Eagles fan and the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry gets me fired up. Now that Manningham is with the Giants and the Eagles have Jackson, Avant, and Graham, this conference continues to solidify itself in my sports heart.
Yeah, go Eagles!
Zoltan??? Get with the program dude.
sincere apologies to the supreme space emperor may he grant me mercy
I'm a Bengals fan sooo...
Who Dey!
We (AFC North) have LaMarr Woodley, Leon Hall, Dhani Jones, What more could you want!?
Side note: How did Dhani Jones (113 tkls, 3.5 sks, 1 FF), Leon Hall (71 tkls, 2FF, 6 ints) not make the Pro-Bowl... or Ced Benson for that matter (he had 1,251 rushing yards)?
Craig Roh will retire from the NFL before Ray Lewis does
teams that I like watching than conferences.
When I'm not watching the Packers, I like to watch most of the AFC north games because I love watching defense. This year I'll probably watch alot of AFC east games. Dolphins are my second favorite team and the Jets are a sexy team this year.
will be a must-watch when the Saints aren't on
Outside of the Lions I like to see the Texans do well because of Matt Schaub, and I consider the Dolphins the more or less anointed Michigan squad for the moment.
As a part-time employee of the Texans game day staff, I'm in the same boat. I'm hoping that maybe Tim Jamison can eventually see some more playing time. He's on and off the practice squad, making like 6 appearances in the big show last year. We've also got '05 alum Adam Stenavich on the practice squad. I don't think he'll ever make it much past that though, as he's been a career practice squad member/NFL Europe type guy.
And the AFC South is staying competitive, even if the Colts due tend to always push through. Tennessee has had some good playes lately, and the Texans continually finish around .500, but do so losing in some of the most exciting ways (Kris Brown can kick any FG over 45 yards, but put him at 44 and we've got problems). Even Jacksonville's had some decent years lately.
Looking forward to hearing more "Manning to Manningham" this season, not looking forward to watching Manning get flattened by B. Graham....
"not looking forward to watching Manning get flattened by B. Graham"
I think you might be alone there... at least on MGoBlog. Personally I'd rather see him demolish the other Manning, but i'm not really picky.
I'd be more than happy with hearing the sounds of the carnage, if I can't identify the QB getting wrecked. Watching it will be like watching one of your hampsters/dogs/kids eating its siblings or something.
I think you mean divisions
College football on the brain
Sean Crable is on the Pats but he's on the PUP list for the 3rd straight year heading into camp
