OT-Jake Long to STL not a done deal
Good luck to him!

I think we have about 3 and a half million left. I'd say we are done until the draft. Envious of the team that gets him.

Stafford is supposedly working on restructuring his deal to free up some more space but that may or may not happen.
March 15th, 2013 at 10:30 AM ^
We could always use that cap space on Hall...

Nah, the Lions will just hire a no-name free agent or draft a guard to play left tackle.

He just passed the most thorough physical in Rams history.. Even Dr. James Andrews gave him a clean bill. His current health is not a concern anymore.

FYI, He just left St. Louis without signing anything.
protecting another Michigan Man.

has 3 recievers go down to injury, Pettigrew/scheffler still have the dropsies most of the time. still throws for almost 5,000 yards. Megatron sets recieving record

You are new here. The guy to whom you are responding is fond of starting shit. Pay no mind.

and while I love Jake, his play the last two years has been pretty mediocre. His body seems is breaking down Tony Boselli style. I hope he can get it together.

I watched every Dolphin game last year and you, sir, could not possibly be more wrong.

Come to Detroit damn it! Stafford needs to re-structure ASAP.

Stop putting OT tags on WOLVERINES! It's almost... like.... offensive... Jake Long will never be off-topic.
Also you guys might as well stop hoping. Fisher is not going to let Long leave without a deal.... and thank god for that.

Yea uhhhh so the Lions are going into the seaosn with zero OTs?
That's a new strategy. Odd, but new and very telling.
I hate my NFL fan life.
EDIT: Also I hate the Bush signing. Guy is old, broken, not an every down back AND he clearly didn't get it done in Miami. That Miami team was horrible at scoring last season. I have no idea why we brought him in besides "Hey we have REGGIE BUSH!! Buy some jerseys and Nachos!!1!!" which is exactly why this franchise is terrible. I'll hang up and listen. /Sweet take

How many 1st round NFL OT need a season on the bench to learn the positon?
One, Reiff.
The guy is a complete bust. Also, who is Hilliard?
Re: Bush. You are a typical Lions fan. Look at the shiny new thing to take your mind off the fact that we suck balls and have forever.

In your lifetime perhaps, but I'm old enough that the Lions played in three NFL championship games and won two of them by the time I was four. Too bad I was too young to really remember anything.
I share your skepticism about Bush's impact, though.

Reiff was playing behind 2 other first round draft pick VETERAN OTs..He is not a bust yet
And if Bush gives us the 1000 rush yards 4.5+ ypc avc and 40 receptions a year he gave Miami.. it was a great signing for 4m a year. Does the team suck balls..yeah, they do. But Bush was a good signing

did it with no one good around him. Miami had Hartline, Bess, and a bunch of no name offensive players. Bush was the primary focus and still ran for over 2,000 yards in 2 seasons. That's pretty impressive.
My expectation for Bush is 1000 rushing yards with 500 recieving yards. If he can do that plus force the defense to focus on Bush away from Megatron, I would call it a fantastic signing.

last season, they were about 3 games below their pythagorean expectation. So essentially, they're a 7 win team with all of the problem they have. They really missed Jahvid Best and his HR threat from RB position. Defense does not respect LeShoure and Bell at all so they continue to drop everybody back and double/triple cover CJ. Bush will demand the defense to play conventionally which will help Stafford. Watch Bush play at Miami and you will see a much improved RB from NO. With the weapons the Lions possess, Bush will thrive at RB which is part of the big reason why we're excited because we can finally see more consistency from the offense.
Hillard is a swing tackle who can start in a pinch at LT or RT. Reiff didn't sit out to learn the position, he was on the bench behind two established vets in Backus and Gosder. RR wasnt' ever going to beat out Backus. Cherilius had a nice season as well for two year straight. That parlayed to a big contract with the Colts. Way to call a player a complete bust after one year. You don't judge a player until year 3 and this will be Reiff's 2nd year in the NFL. Way to early to call this one.

I was with you for a second Hisdudeness, then you lost me.. Reggie Bush is a good pick up.. 2yrs in row he ran for over 1,000 yrds is not broken. Hes gonna be in an excellent offense for his talents and he'll be in a dome with turf..

but I do hope he comes to the Rams so I can go watch him play. But in all honesty, if he ends up where HE is most happy, I'll be fine with it.
