01/06/2015 - 10:21am Sam Webb has been throwing

Sam Webb has been throwing out subtle hints on Wheatley for a while. On radio he said he can't confirm/deny anything. This morning he mentioned maybe there would be 'help' with Tyrone Wheatley Jr. soon and Sr. is interviewing today. This is definitely a read between the lines scenario with Sam who's said he talked to Sr. often. I think we find out he's hired pretty soon here & I think we very well could see a package deal with this son...Nice little double pickup if this happens!

04/04/2013 - 7:46am Would love to see the Fab 5

Would love to see the Fab 5 sitting together at the games this weekend/Monday. He's been punished and a huge part of college basketball history. I would bet CBB is the most corrupt sport when it comes to paying players and UM got killed by the NCAA. If you don't think Calipari is paying players you're crazy.

Bring back the Fab 5 and CWebb and let's win this Ship.

Come to Detroit damn it! Stafford needs to re-structure ASAP.

03/13/2013 - 12:30pm Blackgandhi - I'm not shocked

Blackgandhi - I'm not shocked by this. You can tell a lot of what he says is to piss people off & get phone calls to his radio show. I would bet he's a dude that loves sports, drinks, gambles, etc, just like the rest of us. Now, I do think msu being little brother in so many ways to UM chaps his ass and stuff that goes against State does bother him more than he shows.

03/13/2013 - 10:22am So funny how Sparty "Doesn't

So funny how Sparty "Doesn't care" about the #3 WR in the nation de-committing & saying he isn't even considering them anymore...But you know deep down inside it's eating them alive. I have a VERY vocal Sparty buddy, who talks so much sh!t when I email stuff like this that he doesn't care anyways...Then he'll CC me on emails he sends to his Sparty co-workers FREAKING out for like 20 emails...It's awesome. They can saw whatever they want, that was the best recruit they'll have in 10+ years.

Also, Valenti knows he can egg UM fans on & get them to call in. It's really the idiot part of our fanbase that fall for it. I bet he's a pretty normal & cool guy, just knows how to get ratings --> Slam UM & then yeehaw part of the fanbase calls in immediately sounding like an idiot.

I've seen in multiple places his Dad is a Michigan fan. Pops is on our side. Had Mom & Grandparents with him on visit yesterday.

WOW. This kid is a freshman. Those highlights are extremely impressive regardless of class. Very nice shot and handles for a young kid.

08/29/2012 - 11:59pm This is the exact world I

This is the exact world I live in. Tons of friends who are Spartys, never said much besides "We party more" or call themselves Thug State prior to 2007. Now they are the most obnoxious people on earth. Almost daily I get an email about State owning Michigan. That part is hard to swallow, but they have won 4 years in a row. The worst part is how they talk about their depth, red shirting all frosh cause their players are so good, their experience, Maxwell is Cousins crossed with Vick & Brady, etc. They are literally fucking delusional about their program. I'm pretty sure my one buddy, who is smart and wise with sports, thinks they have depth like Bama/ LSU. He's off his rocker.

07/12/2012 - 4:51pm welcome to auburn son....

now make it rain on dem hoes!

07/11/2012 - 10:28pm as someone that played

as someone that played against Henson multiple times in a couple sports...He was a beast on the basketball court too. Pretty fluid & mobile for someone 6'3 225lbs. Could have easily played D1 in hoops somewhere. The local hype around him was insane & he was a cocky son ofa bia too. These were days of newspaper & he was hyped nationally as hitting more homeruns for his career than anybody in history of HS baseball, top football recruit, etc.

07/06/2012 - 9:59am Elite 11 will definitely be

Elite 11 will definitely be huge. I think this is his first chance to show what he's got & build some momentum going into the Elite 11. Remember, all the ESPN guys are at this camp & also who will be running the Elite 11 (maybe not Dilfer himself, but all the ESPN reporters are there for the most part)...Doesn't hurt to show up the so called #1 QB so they have this in their mind.

07/06/2012 - 9:27am I'm excited to see how Shane

I'm excited to see how Shane Morris stacks up against Max Browne. You can tell from Shane's comments that he thinks Browne has been handed the top QB billing more than earned it...I get the impression that Shane wants a piece of him bad & hope he shows him up. This event could really vault Morris up into the Top 10 of recruit rankings.

07/02/2012 - 2:17pm It does suck giving up guys

It does suck giving up guys that have been with our teams for a while & are good people on top of being good players. But, keeping players just because of emotional ties gets you into the Pistons situation -- Washed up & overpaid team with no flexibility or high draft picks. I like Z, but Nash is a higher scoring version with shorter contract, younger, bigger & would fit in right away next to Pav.

07/02/2012 - 12:37pm Completely agree on all of

Completely agree on all of those guys. I love Bert, but to get Nash I'd do it without thinking. Franzen is injury prone & disappears for stretches every year. I know people will freak out, but I wouldn't hesitate to trade Zet for Nash - Younger, bigger replacement. Zet has a bad back (which NEVER goes away) & is much older in hockey years than his age because of all the deep post seasons he's been in. I really think he has slowed down a lot & Columbus would love to get someone of Zet's calibur locked up for years so he can't bolt immediately.

07/02/2012 - 11:54am Exactly - We view Cleary as a

Exactly - We view Cleary as a 3rd/4th line role player. Columbus would view him as a Top 6 forward who otherwise wouldn't got to Columbus. Not saying Cleary alone would land Rick Nash, it would take him, Kindle, a pick, another Cleary type role player & probably 2 young players. I want to see the Wings rid some of their expensive veteran role players & infuse youngsters into the lineup. It would help the salary cap & your Drew Millers are more productive & healthy than Cleary. Like Hudler, he had a good year scoring goals but is such a one dimensional player. His +/- isn't great, all he plays on is the power play & with some really good Top 6 forwards that get most of the attention from the opposing players defense. I think the Wings have some players who hold value, but we would be better suited trading these types for a Nash & letting the Nyquists fill the 3rd/4th line. It's probably a pipe dream, but would love Nash. Wouldn't mind Bobby Ryan either.

07/02/2012 - 8:13am From everything I read, it

From everything I read, it sounds like the Wings don't like their chances with Parise (sounds like Pitt is his leader) & sounds like we lead for Suter. Nash's contract has a high cap hit, but I love him as a player. Dude is big & so skilled, something we could really use. I'd like to see us ship some players that are a little older & production slipping (Cleary, etc - He's a good player, but not worth $3mil & injury prone - Columbus can use players like him) so some younger guys can break the lineup who are also cheaper. Also wouldn't mind seeing Kindl thrown in, guy really hasn't shown me much at all & would like to see Brendan Smith in lineup permanently. Would be fired up to get Suter & Nash/Parise.

Sounds like Suter/Parise are making decision today, so we'll know soon.

06/29/2012 - 10:19am Love the pick. Drummond is a

Love the pick. Drummond is a perfect compliment to Monroe. Monroe is very skilled, but lacks athleticism big time. Drummond can rebound, block shots, play helpside D & get garbage points. He doesn't need a post game really because Monroe gives us that. Drummond is athletic enough to run the pick & roll, plus has athleticism to finish at the rim that Monroe can struggle with at times. At #9, this was a no-brainer IMHO.

06/15/2012 - 2:10pm or maybe he doesn't like

or maybe he doesn't like him...marinade on that for a minute

06/15/2012 - 9:52am If he really liked him, I

If he really liked him, I doubt he would throw in the "Urban Liar." Might give a inclination to the real Urban Meyer from someone that actually knows him in multiple capacities. Always thought that guy was a snake, perfect fit for theeeee osu.

Desmond comes off as such a cool dude. My 1st Meeeeeeeichigan game ever as a 12 yr old was the UM vs osu game where he struck The Pose. NEVER will forget that day. Was already a huge Michigan fan, but that solidified me for life.

06/08/2012 - 6:21pm Laces out Finkel! I heard

Laces out Finkel! I heard he's #2 holder in nation. Times from catch to ball down and laces out is out of this world.

06/07/2012 - 11:21am It's called sarcasm. And I'm

It's called sarcasm. And I'm not going to apologize because I don't follow everything the coaching staff does like a little puppy just because I'm a fan. They have done a great job recruiting, but this still boggles my mind. A long snapper being a HUGE asset? That is a bit of an overstatement I would say. I saw somewhere they might play 13 plays at most & this is a position that is routinely handled by walk-ons without any hiccups. If this kid is such a beast & obviously jumped on this offer within 3 seconds of receiving it...Why not wait until later in the recruiting cycle when actual IMPACT players situations have played out & then offering him?? Pretty sure if he were walking on or offered by a lesser B10 program (or any program for that matter) he would still jump on a UM offer.

The kid sounds like he's very good at what he does. Doesn't mean I have to be thrilled about it & can't joke that this is about as exciting as watching the Pistons play. Dude is a long snapper, pretty sure he wasn't expecting an ESPN CFB Live special to show his long snapping delivery technique & times. He's probably smiling ear to ear that he's a long snapper & just got a full ride to The University of Michigan fer god sakes no matter what people are saying --- I'd be walking around saying "I'm Scott Sypniewski biatch - Get on deez nutz."

End Transmission

06/06/2012 - 6:01pm Kendal Fuller 5*...No

Kendal Fuller 5*...No thx...Leon McQuay 5*...No thx...Derrick Green 5*...No thx...Snappy Snapperton 1/8* - Come on down!

This is definitely a WTF moment for me. Yes, I get it teams need long snappers, but come on. I'm taking this is instant karma for just riding my good friend who's a sparty for stealing our walk-on long snapper & giving him a scholarship:(

06/05/2012 - 10:28am Just watched Bailey's video

Just watched Bailey's video -- Kid has major shake. Would love to see a player like that & Treadwell jump onboard.

Would also like to see Derrick Green in this class!

05/17/2012 - 5:51pm Rating Drop: The kid played

Rating Drop: The kid played on an all-star team that looked like an And 1 mixed tape. Big fundamental players get lost in these type of games because the play is guard dominated. His offer sheet should speak to how good he is. Not all bad, the kid isn't taking it hard & less pressure (as crazy as that sounds with our expectations) on him. He's going to bring some much needed grit, size & rebounding to our team. VERY excited about him & GRIII, who I think is going to be really good.

05/07/2012 - 5:31pm I would be beyond shocked if

I would be beyond shocked if McGary & Robinson aren't starting almost right away. Robinson has atheliticism that our lineup lacks (along with length/size) & McGary's size, rebounding and ability in the pick & roll game will get him on the court quick.

05/03/2012 - 1:18pm Someone on ESPN had an

Someone on ESPN had an interesting take on this situation - They compared it to EJ Levenberry. FSU secretly seen as leader, flirted with UM, really liked UM, parents like UM & academics. But in the end, staying in ACC & situation was better at FSU. I do get the same feeling on this situation - I think Ty is flirting with the idea of USC, obviously likes them, but I think he'll end up Blue in the end. Can't remember where I saw this (I think something TomVH posted), but Ty has some quotes about how some coaches tell you what you want to hear, which he sees through & other coaches are honest. This was in middle of his tired of recruiting talk.

I think he goes to USC, hunkers down and makes a decision...and he ends up with Wings on helmet!

05/02/2012 - 8:30am If I remember correctly, RR

If I remember correctly, RR wouldn't offer Hankins because he was not in shape enough for his liking? Man...Another blunder, goes to osu & starts as a true frosh...Can't let kids leave Detroit, especially when they're good (also see tom gholston - who might be a prick, but I would take him on UM in a heartbeat).

04/26/2012 - 5:19pm thank you sweet baby jesus!!!!!!!

04/05/2012 - 9:27am You don't think with

You don't think with "Certainty" that Burke would help the team next year!?!? Great argument, how could a player that pundits were stating was in the top 7 freshman in the nation help our team without 1 viable option to handle the ball. You guys are in happy land if you think walk-ons & whitey whitertons who had 4 years of high school ball, years on a high profile AAU team & an extra year in prep school that plays a number of high profile recruits but still have no offers are going to step in and we won't miss a beat.

The world isn't over, but anybody that says Burke leaving won't hurt UM hoops with certainty is a fool. Without him this year they don't win the B10 Ship. This kid was handling the ball and not getting a break every game with Stu, Akune & Brundidge available. Now there is just Akune how didn't see the floor when Burke could barely breath from playing so many minutes.

With Burke, could be a special team. They're not going to tank or anything, just a major major hit.

04/04/2012 - 10:05pm How can you say with complete

How can you say with complete certainty this guy is going to help? Let's face it, this is a desperation move since we have nobody to handle the ball next year. This is a HUGE blow if Burke leaves

04/01/2012 - 9:34pm Everyone needs to relax about

Everyone needs to relax about Mcgary. His HS team was an all star team that looks like an And 1 mixed tape. These teams are dominated by guard play where big men rarely touch the ball. Same thing with these all star games. It's run and gun guard play. He might not be Nerlens Noel(sp?) type athlete, but is very skilled and relentless energy player. Much rather have this out of a bi man than raw talent and an attitude. GR3 is a beat and only getting better. I see both of these kids starting next year. Too good to keep off the floor.

03/23/2012 - 11:57am I know. You could tell he had

I know. You could tell he had to get all 140lbs behind the throws to get them out there. But the kid is only a Frosh, won the state championship & seems to have the respect of the upperclassman as CT -- Which is impressive being that young on a team in high school. He looks to be a great athlete, I'm sure he'll be playing D-1 football.

How bout the thought of a 6'7 dual threat QB!?!?

03/23/2012 - 10:21am TomVH did a video with Sugar

TomVH did a video with Sugar Shane, Jayru & 2014 QB (Chance I believe his name is). Anyhoo, in the video they discuss height, and Jayru's doctors think he's going to be 6'7 when said & done. So, this kid could end up being a monster!

03/22/2012 - 4:55pm Hey man, just being real.

Hey man, just being real. This guy has no business on the team. I have no interest in our team having a living mascot a la Matt Ishbia who sat on sparty's bench for what seemed like 12 years waiving a towel...This is Michigan fergodsake

03/22/2012 - 12:49pm Have to say no thanks to

Have to say no thanks to Whitey "Spike" Whiterton as a scholarship athlete...This is coming from a fellow (former) 5'10 honkey  PG...He would get destroyed in B10.

03/06/2012 - 1:39pm It boggles my mind how every

It boggles my mind how every 'Expert' (mainly on ESPN multiple times) thinks msu is just going to win 11 games and compete for B10 ship again without missing a beat. Do they realize that they just lost the most successful class in school history!?!? Along with their QB, All Time Leading WR, K. Martin who was their return man and big play guy, best OL, Nichol & 2 back up TE's. Also lost Edwin Baker, 1st round impact DT & leading tackler (S). This QB has never played a down of meaningful football. Sorry for the rant, that's WAY too much to lose from any team unless your Bama, LSU, UT, FSU, UGA, UF, USC...They're also getting cleveland steamered in recruiting; so there goes the talent pool that helped them win.

The streak is done this year. I can't wait, because I get harassed on a daily basis from obnoxious sparty friends

GO BLUE

02/25/2012 - 9:34am Patrick Krugler is my

Patrick Krugler is my guess!

Give us all your beast OL...Looks like we're switching to the Wing T and just going to road grade teams!

02/24/2012 - 7:18am This drives me nuts...We

This drives me nuts...We trade a 1st rounder for Kyle F*CKING Quincy and Columbus gets Jack Johnson for the same thing...Seriously, WTF Holland.

I know the Wings have a great team, make great moves. But this to me is a MAJOR miss, especially someone like Johnson that is bigger and physical which the Wings could really used. To top it off the guy is skilled as well & a hometown guy....My rant is done!

02/01/2012 - 8:07am hope this kid can come in and

hope this kid can come in and give us a boost at PR immediately. Sounds like he's compact, shifty and dynamic with ball in hand...Which we've lacked in return game for a while. Also, think Drake Johnson with size/speed combo could make a difference in the KR game. Our special teams have been lackluster at best for years.

Congrats young man...GO BLUE!

01/29/2012 - 9:56pm posted from iPhone

The coaches did a good job with this class and it's a top 10 class. But can't hide that I'm disappointed how this is finishing up. We're really getting blanked by our top targets. I would WR use to Urb pulling classes like this. His name is huge and ohio has cache with recruits from recent success. I would expect Ohio to have a big 2013 class. 2013 is where well really see how UM can battle them head to head. it's obvious they're watching who we offer and gong after them. Should be interesting to watch.
