OT: Florida Players still Florida Men
Six University of Florida players face potential future wrist slaps for getting into a confrontation with Gainesville locals that involved airsoft guns, a baseball bat, rocks and a frying pan according to campus police.
Sounds like the whole thing came about because they were hanging out with some local dudes who went on to heckle the Florida players for being bad at football last season. Very Florida situation all around.
Deadspin has a bit more including this gem (emphasis mine):
Video apparently shows the players, after initially leaving the scene, returning with what were described as assault rifles, though investigators later learned that they were in fact airsoft guns painted black. (Toney and Campbell were later allegedly to have held the guns.) The players also were shown carrying rocks and even a frying pan, which was left at the scene and later dusted for fingerprints. No charges have been filed and police say they consider the case to be closed.
Wow, the legend of that great disciplinarian urbz lives on in Gainesville
Wouldn't our WR coach have recruited those players? Shouldn't throw rocks at meth heads in Glass Houses in Florida.
McElwain definitely recruited some idiots.
Today's news is actually the second BB gun incident at Florida for Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells. Wells was also involved in the credit card scheme.
Three fake gun strikes and you're...suspended for the 1st half vs the UT Martin Skyhawks?
Of course, your WR coach is less than a year removed, but it's 8 years removed Urban's fault.
Airsoft guns ans frying pans? Just another evening in the annals of #FloridaMan
....you mean anals!
This feels like last off season
Florida gonna Florida
That list of weapons sounds like something out of Anchorman
I've changed my email signature at work to just Tay Bang
From the ESPN article:
"The police report says Toney's airsoft gun resembled an AR15 assault rifle."
I don't see why that would cause a problem in a state with Stand Your Ground laws. That dude is lucky to be alive.
If it was an airsoft gun, it should have had an orange tip to signify it isn't an actual bullet spitting rifle.
Article says the gun was painted black to look more realistic. I'm guessing they painted over the orange, though it would be hilarious if they didn't.
When I was a kid we used to paint the orange or hack saw it off. These days, I'd be dead by now if I did that.
Yeah I'm guessing you just made that story up. I'm also guessing you don't know what a hack saw even looks like. No kid actually takes the time to paint their toy guns black to make them look more real. That is unless you are fucked in the head at a very young age. Which there is a good chance you just might be to admit to doing such things. What kid even uses a hack saw to do stuff like that? I might have used one just to cut random boards for a tree house or tree fort! Get some help dude or stop the gaps in medication!
Gators gonna Gator!

That frying pan is the most Florida thing about that article. Absolutely priceless...
shocked.....just shocked I tell you
I don’t think we can really know it was Florida players unless two of them were blocking each other.
