OT: Ball State vs Illinois St 1979 Game Footage - LB Brady Hoke, # 55
I found this interesting footage from Ball State 1979 football season vs. Illinois State.
Brady Hoke is the starting LB for Ball State (home red) #55.
He was certainly in on a lot of tackles.
The game films were released without sound by Ball State University Libraries on Youtube, plus a 1978 season highlight film (10-1 year).
I really wish the University of Michigan would decide to release more historical football game films from 1969-1979, or even before that, including those that were not nationally televised. I'm sure the majority of those films have been digitized by now. I think UM football fans would enjoy viewing those games today, and it would provide some more national exposure to the history of Michigan's football program, particularly UM's dominance in the 1970s under Schembechler. There are only a handful of copies of football games from the 1970s available.

And lo, Brady Hoke attempted to drink every beer in Muncie.

If the beer that makes you happy is, say, Miller Lite than drink the hell out of it and don't worry about what others think. Good example is Fearless Leader's Cracker Barrel preference. Not my idea of good, but it makes him happy, so fuck me. Maybe something different will make you happy, but if you try it and it doesn't, enjoy what does. Life's too short to cater to others' expectations.
Pretty good pad level overall.
And no doubt good weeks of practice.
He is in red.
I can hear football being played.
Looks like Ball State ran back the opening kickoff.
Agree it would be fun to see some of film from the older Michigan games that were not on TV.
As recent as 2011, not all that many worthy of your sanity. The '70s, '80s, and '90s on the other hand, those you may enjoy.
Shitty? He averaged a top-20 defense in his last 3 years of coaching here. Before you go talking out of your ass like that look up the stats, or just watch the damn game. The defense played beautifully under Hoke, the offense, not so much.
How many claps per play does he average? Most important statistic in modern football.
I couldn't agree with you more. I believe Hoke would be an outstanding DL coach and a pretty decent DC anywhere in D1 CFB.
I'm not trying to bash the guy. But he's never been a coordinator outside of high school. I think he could be a good DL line coach in college or the pros and there's no shame in that.

Could you see him coming back under Harbaugh as DL coach a few years from now?
Bring back the Neck Roll!
Boring offenses.... Looks like an old St. Louis Cardinals vs. KC Chiefs game according to the unis
