this is simply a logistical heads up (not breaking the "no politics" rule) to note that MSU v UM is Oct. 10th, and this debate will be Oct 15th at Crisler - prestigious "get" for the University

also, Jane (as usual) is right: https://twitter.com/cjane87/status/1182701269460410370

MOD EDIT: Useful notice but went political

If I lived in Ann Arbor and if I attended the event,

I would really, really need to study the prior thread . . .

I’ll take a different approach than most posters thus far. I think it is awesome that such an important institution to democratic governance is coming to Ann Arbor, Michigan. The idea that candidates must appear in front of the citizenry and try to win them over with their positions, leadership style, and personality is something we should all cherish. It doesn’t always work out the way you want, and it is easy to become cynical about the process and take for granted how great these liberties are, but democracy is an incredible thing. We should be proud and feel fortunate, not complain about traffic.

Quoting churchill, “Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…”

The question is who is going to ask the candidates the tough questions?

”if elected how do you plan to improve the Michigan offense?”
