James Franklin apparently has a sour grapes-induced tummy ache over the PBJ sammiches he missed out on at halftime Saturday.

He's demanding the prevention of potential confrontations in the Lloyd Carr Tunnel by having the Big Ten impose a 1 to 2 minute delay between the teams exiting the field at halftime.

Meanwhile, video of Saturday's little tiff apparently showed Janklin doing nothing but the opposite of peacekeeping, as he instead screamed "choice words" in the direction of the Michigan team and coaches.

We should name the floor after James Franklin, like how they name the ice sheet after Berenson and the building for Yost. Frames Janklin floor at the Lloyd Carr Tunnel.

Two quick thoughts on this.

Notre Dame modeled and built their Stadium after Michigan Stadium.   For many years, both teams entered from a single tunnel.  However, during Brian Kelly's tenure at ND, a second entrance was actually created for the visiting team.

Now, WHY did ND do this?   It wasn't because of conflict and "tussles" between the two teams, it was because ND wanted their teams arrival on the field to be "undistracted" and the fans could bathe in the glory of their arrival.

As for Franklin, my thought is - "deal with it".  Recruit better.  Don't throw your players (who you recruited, by the way) under the bus.   Don't complain that you need a "bigger" DL - recruit and sign the players that have the size you think is necessary to compete effectively in conference play.  And, speak with your agent - see if they can extend your contract by another ten years, or more.

Translation: “My team got its ass kicked this week.  I was totally outcoached.  But maybe we can talk about something else that hasn’t been a big issue for 100 years.”  He should run for political office, that’s where indirection is most highly prized.
