Notre Dame sends recruit 477 pieces of mail as 'Pot of Gold'

Submitted by Dilla Dude on

Notre Dame sent  LB and former Michigan recruit Nyles Morgan 477 pieces of mail today as a part of their 'Pot of Gold' recruiting ploy.

What the accompanying note reads:

Nyles,

You have received the #PotOfGold: 477 pieces of mail.

477 represents the total number of NFL draft picks we’ve had here at ND. In each envelope there’s a custom graphic with the name and pick # of each and every draftee. Your future is bright — just like the other 477 men before you. Come continue the legacy — become college football royalty!

I think it's a neat way for storied programs to give recruits a visual of the success they've had. I can also see how it could be seen as overkill to some. What say you?

This is unbelievably lame, but honestly, I get it because you really have to try every persuasion tactic possible to convince players to come to a wasteland like South Bend and play for Grimace.

This one doesn't seem like it would work though.  Looks desperate...falls into the "he's just not that into you" category, if you're making me quote a Justin Long movie.
