Notre Dame schadenfrude
Now this isn't schadenfreude in the sense that this is a message board post I found. But for those of you who weren't at the game, you probably didn't hear this on tv. But late in the 3rd quarter, the section of Notre Dame fans that we stuck up at the top of the Big House in one of the endzones started a chant where they said "It sucks...to be...a Michigan Wolverine." Pretty funny considering it was 24-7 at they time. Spoke too soon. Woops. Anyways, does anyone else have any non-Internet related schadenfreude stories they would like to share?

It is intriguing to see (sometimes in person) how much fail, particularly in one's recent history, can lead to a statement like that.

After the game he said, "Losers find a way to lose."

Section 30 Row 30 Seat 4 and 5..
"One ND fan by me was with his friend who was a Michigan fan . When they scored their last TD he goes "Yes! I've had to deal with Michigan comebacks for two years!"
That would be ME!
Had to be ME!
My best friend is ND fan and we take turns hosting this game. He went from pissed at 1:12 to elation at :30 to complete shock with just two seconds left. Keep in mind he was in the Michigan student section for the Tater game and then in Southbend watching Denard kill him last year.
I want to thank all the students who made his life HELL and gave creepy old guy in the student section just another great memory. He had to sit there for 30 minutes after the game as the student section sang in pure joy.
EPIC!

This hasn't happened yet, but it's about to right before my 9:00 class.
I wear something Michigan just about every day, especially now that I live in SEC country. A couple weeks ago, this kid who sits two rows behind me (that I don't even know) asked why I'm wearing a T-shirt from "the dark side." I asked him if he went to ND and he said no, he got rejected, but his siblings went there. He then started to talk smack about how Denard isn't a real quarterback and Michigan is a bunch of losers.
Today I am wearing blue and maize Michigan Adidas pants, my Under the Lights T-shirt and a Michigan hat. I plan on sitting right next to him with a huge Denard smile on my face.
To top it all off, my professor (Ivy League for UG and law school), upon hearing that I was going to the game said, "OH MY GOSH! I would give anything to be at the Big House this weekend." I have a feeling she'll let me mess with that kid throughout the day.
Go Blue!

Guy who appeared to be from ND accompanying his Wolverine friend (note to self: do NOT EVER invite a fan of opposing team), seeming to be trying to make us all feel better after the final ND touchdown. He said "30 seconds is too much to give Denard Robinson", but we figured he was just being patronizing.

<br>Instead of being from ND, it turns out he was from.... THE FUTURE.

Maybe it was just the emotion of the game, but it seemed like the ND fans at the game were the most obnoxious I have ever seen for an opposing crowd (even worse than OSU fans)! The moron with the green shirt and purple hat pictured above was in the section next to mine, he stood up on every successful Irish play and made some kind of stupid gesture towards the Michigan fans. One row behind me and a few seats over, an Irish fan about 13 years old was with her equally pre-pubescent friends and kept standing on the bleachers yelling "Michigan sucks" at the top of her lungs every 30 seconds. Finally I just stood up, looked at her until we made eye contact and yelled "Sit down until you reach puberty!" She proceeded to sit down for the rest of the night. Even my fourteen year old son gave me a high-five.

My neighbor was supposed to be my ride home but he had to leave at halftime with his wife because her grandmother passed away. I was left in Ann Arbor without a lift back to Oakland County. I tried calling everyone I knew who attended the game only to get voice mail after voice mail. FINALLY, a call goes through to a family whose son is classmates/teammates with my son. The parents and the oldest son are all Notre Dame graduates. Needless to say, it was a rather quiet and somber ride home. The mom texted my wife the next day to say I was a very gracious winner. Hail!

I just texted my ND friends this:
"We've stolen your lucky charms...."
For some reason that seemed to tick them off.

I will say on the other side of the equasion, I had a good friend who was a domer at the game swear never to come back to AA after they got beer dumped on them by strangers when they passed the Pioneer tailgates and a Walmart Wolverine punched his younger brother in the back for wearing a ND jersey. I think the night game might have been too much to handle for some fans.

Before the game I was at a party with some friends and ending up talking to this Irish girl. We had some friendly smack talk going before the game and we were texting during the game and at one point, down 24-7 when I was almost suicidal were going to meet up afterwards. And after the last ND td she got really cocky and sent a bunch of smack, I told her we still had a shot. After we won she said she was gonna drink herself to oblivion in South Bend
