Not going to do it for me. One of the many benefits of being a Michigan fan living in Ohio is that in the past 23 and a half hours every single one of the Ohio state fan's that I know have made it a point to try and talk shit to me multiple times today.

It doesn't matter that I do not play on the team, and had no effect on the final play. Or that Ohio state didn't play Michigan this week. I am a target for their closeted sexual frustrations every time Michigan loses a big game.

I know there have been a lot of posts from when the game ended until now, with a lot of us trying to process and understand what the hell happened and what it all means. I've been reading "Endzone" and wanted to share these two quotes from Michigan Men of yesteryear:

"But do let me reiterate...the Spirit of Michigan. It is based upon a deathless loyalty to Michigan and all her ways; an enthusiasm that makes it second nature for Michigan Men to spread the gospel of their university to the world's distant outposts; a conviction that nowhere is there a better university, in any way, than this Michigan of ours." (Fielding Yost, Endzone, p. 13)

"Tradition is something you can't borrow," Crisler said, echoing Yost's famous speech. "You cannot go down and buy it at the corner store, but it's there to sustain you when you need it the most. I have watched countless Michigan football coaches, countless Michigan players call upon it time and time again. There is nothing like it. I hope it never dies." (Fritz Crisler, Endzone, p. 14)

I hope these quotes sustain you as much as they have on my end. Let us call upon why we love this program so much, now when we need it the most.
