Michigan #9 in CBS best in college sports ranking for past school year
It's not a predictive algorithm.
It's based purely on 2016-17, what has already happened. PSU's typically bad men's basketball team weighs heavily in the rankings.
where Michigan is #6 is really more fair and balanced based up ALL sports so Ill go with that not just Michigan is ranked Higher but they also adjust for sports like say Rifle or Equestarian where only a handful of schools participate..its more fair and more balanced
What are they going to call the "Sears Directors Cup" in 10 years?
The "Amazon Directors Cup"?
WBB undervalued again. We would probably be top 5 if they got rated fairly?
How are they undervalued? They got 10 points for making the WNIT, just like every other team did. You can blame the value system, but it's not a Michigan bias.
Winning the NIT was great don't get me wrong, but all the teams that made the actual tournament understandably got a lot more points.
I'm not blaming anything, really just noting again that they deserved to make the tourney and that one moment of undervalue would have made a difference here in addition to their post-season experience (which turned out great of course).
Anyone that says otherwise, is just wrong.
GO BLUE!!
But still flawed. We're ranked higher than Clemson and North Carolina, but a national championship should be weighted way more and I'm sure nobody here would turn down an athletic year like those two even for consistency
