MBB vs Maryland thread (& Sparty goes down to Penn St, woot-woot!!!) Thread

Home vs Maryland on the Deuce (ESPN2). Could be a big win to get to above .500 and a mini-win streak going. Somehow we're -7 to Kenpom and I don't understand that; to me we should be underdogs here and I'm pessimistic we can hang with the more talented Terps team. We shall see. And yes, Sparty just lost to the same Penn St. (in Philadelphia for some reason) WE damn near lost to 3 nights ago.

i don't think the grand plan was to have the offense run through him the past two years.  the stagnation/decline of walton is what is killing this team as much as anything.  maar too, though he is showing some flashes of life today.

Thank you for the good times.  You gave us a lot of fun and good memories.  That being said, there comes a time when a successful man must walk away from what he was successful at.  That time for you is now.  Please retire with dignity after this year rather than become a detriment to what you once made great.

Tired of watching freshman on opposing teams beat a "senior" lead team. Does that reflect coaching or just players. I don't know but I'm tired of watching it

Definitely a team that is limited and hard to watch. However, as bad as they play, I find myself watching nonetheless- with this caveat: I find Wilson and Mo to be only "watchables"- if anyone else does well, bonus. Expectations...man how they've lowered.

if you're going to allow your team to chuck like this, at least let them crash. I swear all of jb's praises hide faults. Low fouls (no tough defense). Low turnovers (all high percentage passes 30 feet from hoop), don't give up transition baskets (no one crashes the glass. He'd have 6 guys back if they could). Of course Wagner is settling for threes. He NEVER gets the ball on the post. It's not part of the offense and it's an integral must for good three point shooting. Inside out. Inside out, like jb's basketball brain.

How can Beilein make three-point shooting such a cornerstone of his offense and then these guys simply can't shoot, and I'm sure they practice 3-pointers all day, and still can't shoot.

You're right but they need solid point play from Walton, 15 points (efficient)from Irvin, 3 point potential from Dr and donnal must give quality mins off the bench. Not the best roster ever but there are enough pieces. Maar coming on nicely big ten season. It's nice to see.
