Bottom of the 6th in this Taiwanese baseball game. Apparently all the games are streamed live in English on Twitter? Obviously not great timing for people in the US. I don't really follow baseball much anymore, so I don't even know Ryan Carpenter but apparently he played for the Tigers recently and now plays for Rakuten. I'm sure he wishes he had an MLB contract, but he's probably happy to actually be able to play.

And here's a video to entice some of you, like the Mad Hatter.

I guess this is also a good time to talk about going to a baseball game in Korea. They're a lot of fun. And beers don't cost an arm and a leg! You can even bring in a couple beers from outside. But even in the stadium they're only like 4 dollars if I remember right.

They have cheerleaders like you'll see in the Taiwanese games it looks like from what I'm seeing right now. Always one male cheerleader in the middle shouting stuff out. Each team has a bunch of chants. Each player has their own song, which is usually a melody from some classic song but with their name chanted with the melody. The crowds are generally more active than in the US. I don't think a crowd would ever boo their own team, although I'm not sure about that one. And no one leaves early. The first game I went to the away team was down like 8-2 in the 9th. The leadoff hitter got a single and their part of the stadium went nuts.

Not the best video from this hipster dude, but it's only 3 minutes and some decent examples of what I'm talking about.

I miss baseball so much :( Being an Omaha resident, you can imagine how distraught i was when they announced the cancellation of the remainder of the collegiate baseball season AND the College World Series. Watching Michigan play in-person in Omaha and almost win it all is one of my favorite memories.
