James Ross invited back to the Chargers and signed!

Submitted by Michigasling on

Per the Chargers' website, James Ross was a "non-contract participant" in San Diego's rookie minicamp, and called back when a safety was placed on IR.  Since he wasn't simply replacing another LB, it seems that they liked what they saw in camp and brought him back as soon as a roster spot opened.

There were previous posts here about his invitation to the Ravens camp, but wasn't signed, and a later post about LBs making rosters mentioned he'd been invited to the Chargers' camp also.  Great to know it wasn't the end of the story for him.

I did a search, and only found the posts I mentioned above.  Not quite sure how I stumbled on the info (the same page you linked to)...  But I live in abject terror of posting something redundantly.

Lots of unheralded college lbs make it in the NFL. Position can be played at a high level (depending on system and surrounding talent) without elite measurables. Ross is definitely one of those guys who has a shot at that.
