How's Everyone Feeling About Leilon Willingham?
TomVH reported that a couple nights ago Willingham had an in house visitor named Brady Hoke. He also reported that Willingham was still planning on visiting UCF this weekend and announcing on signing day. That is where the information stands. Anyone have a feeling one way or another on Leilon? I've been watching his tapes and he looks like he would be a HUGE pickup for the class - especially this late in the game.

For those wondering, all 3 LB's are going D-1 next year. #6 to Air Force and #8 to Colorado.

Hopefully Leilon goes BLUE!

Hopefully Willingham, Kellen Jones, and Antonio Poole will be Brick Squad 2.0 in a few years.

my sentiments exactly!

That's a well-done video! This is the kind of player Michigan needs at LB - someone who has lived and breathed the position in high school. Basically, we need players who already have experience playing the position and are ready to move to the next level (as opposed to switching players from other positions who have no clue how to play LB and then struggle). This has been a constant problem for MIchigan due to poor recruiting, players washing out, transferring, or just not being good enough for Big 10 play. Glad to see Hoke and staff recognizing the problem and doing something about it.

Of all the prospective commits, I'm least concerned with Willingham and Clark. Not going to dig in BKFinest's bag of tricks but I expect him to go blue.

UCF would have to go all Cecil Newton on his ass to influence him in any way, shape, or form.
I think he's blue.

Not gonna lie, if I was a recruit in his situation, I'd be contemplating a late visit to UCF. Nothing wrong with a weekend in Orlando in late January....

If I could figure out how to +1 you with this new layout, I would.

I was thinking the same thing. Then I thought.. "Orlando? Really? I mean... What's the attraction there? Disney? Cougars? Fat people?". I guess I could see it, him being from CO and all and wanting to go somewhere warm.

True. If going to take a meaningless visit, maybe go to FAU or USF. At least they have beaches....

He's going to UCF with Mullen teammate Rayshon Williams, who happens to be Brandon Marshall's cousin. Marshall went to UCF.

Well, that just makes too much sense...lol.
Thx for the heads-up. Still, if people are going to be concerned then it should be with Colorado and not UCF.

I like 2 of those 3 attractions.

How do you feel about Willingham?

He's probably Blue.

being roommates and are said to be silent commits.

Hoping that Lemar Dawson would come back in the picture, but i guess that ship sailed.
January 27th, 2011 at 2:23 PM ^
I don't think we ever had a realistic shot at Dawson. I think he officially dropped us a few weeks back. I could be wrong and would welcome a player of his caliber, but don't hold your breath.

What is the upside of being a silent commit is, especially this late in the game? I always wondered why recruits chose this path.

The school holds your slot and you get to announce in a big fancy suspense filled ceremony on your own time schedule.
January 27th, 2011 at 3:40 PM ^
You tell the coaches so they save a scholarship for you but you still get to make a public announcement.
edit: whoops i was beat to it.

chances are very good that he winds up Blue. I would be shocked if his trip to UCF has any affect on Michigan's chances. If we grab this kid and Cooper we will wind up with a very solid defense class
January 27th, 2011 at 1:51 PM ^
I hope he's Blue!

I definitely hope he goes blue, which I think he will. I live in Denver and Mullen is a straight up powerhouse when it comes to football. It would be awesome to have someone from my area on U of M's roster and also being from Colorado I definitely would not mind going to Orlando right about now.

Aside from Cyler Myles how is the class of 2012 looking? It seems like they might have to rebuild at the LB spot.

UCF has a coach named Brady Hoke too!!!!!! s/
January 27th, 2011 at 3:49 PM ^
hopefully we land this kid, he is going to be a stud. not to mention him along with our other LB commits could be tearing up the Big Ten for years to come!

He was a good OLB for the Wolverines under Bo.
