If you really don't want to play DE why would you commit to MSU? It sounds like he'll still be going there. Please someone take him as a LB. Better yet, come play the quick here.

Since he has talked a lot of smack about Michigan to other players and the media (predominately facebook/freep, so I hear/read), is Michigan (RR) still going to let him have a sideline pass for their home games during his senior year of high school, like they do all big recruits, or is it obvious that he isn't coming here and they will cut all ties, not give him a pass? Not sure how to post this under the title post! Honest question!

mostly a Will Campbell. He is definitely in with sparty but wants to take his visits. Michigan may give a late push if they have a very solid year.

Again, I'm not really comfortable with any verbal commit that says he wants to take visits. Yeah, I understand that they want to take advantage of the perks that these visits offer, but it also indicates that they are far from solid.

If I were a highly-recruited athlete I would certainly take all of my official visits just to score free vacations. My official visits? Hawaii USC Arizona State (best coeds evarrrr) Wisconsin (brats, beer, and cheese) Boston College (never been to Boston, always have wanted to) And yes, I know these official visits are vastly different than what they used to be. (no more steak and lobster dinners...thanks Willie). But a free trip is what it is.

Wisconsin? Doesn't really fit with the rest, not too amazing of a trip. The bar scene is solid, but that might not be super sweet to a 17 year old. And BC really isn't in Boston. Unless they go way off campus on the officials, you're not really in a fun part of Boston. It's pretty, but it's not like going to Boston. It's kind of like visiting NW saying you want to go to Chicago.

The "vacation" aspect of official visits is bit exaggerated in a lot of peoples' minds. These free trips typically involve flying to the school on Friday and flying back on Sunday. And much of the little time you're there is spent talking to coaches, academic advisors, and such, as well as being at the stadium for several hours on Saturday. You basically have Saturday night to have fun and that's it.

does go on. Perfect example was RoJo and how USC stole him from U of M. Until the NCAA steps in and stops it, nothing will change. I personally could care less if he joins MSU or not. I do not bank my hopes and dreams on 17 year-old kids. If he bails and MSU continues to pull in 3* talent, oh well. If the NCAA is ok with the same schools pulling in 5* recruits, oh well. I just hope MSU and U of M do not compromise integrity, those schools will be exposed soon enough.

The best scenario for Michigan is USC snaking him away, because, and listen closely here, folks, he is not coming here. We are not on his radar. The constant barrage of UM hate being spewed to him by Dantonio and Archie Collins has ingrained itself; he hates Michigan. The best we can hope for is he takes a trip to USC in January, and is mysteriously quiet when he gets back before whipping out the SC hat on signing day.

Hondo spoke to him and has quotes from him. Not sure if this is bad as the Wob Parker lies, but it seems contradictory. I'm not sure if I can link other sites as I'm new here, but Hondo's site is pretty easy to find and it's the top story. I know he is about as Green as you can get and not the most respected journalist, but he gets pretty good interviews with the commitments.

Call me crazy but if Gholston takes a trip to USC, and UF, and he sees what a real University looks like and he still picks MSU I would really have to question how smart of a player he really is. I hope this kid picks us but I have to say that aint' happening. His cousin was a Buck nut and his parents were Spartys I tend to think that he has been brought up to hate us.

Even if Gholston doesn't sign with us because I realize there is no chance we are getting him this would be awesome. To have the "savior" of the recruiting class for State decommit and go out of the Big Ten would be awesome and very amusing.

Thinks he is going to a program that will take him to big bowl games.. I agree that he wont ever come to M but with all his talent he can do better than MSU..

...that some folks here seem to be willing him out of the Big 10. Given our fanbase and history, it is easy for the national media put Michigan in the same category as Notre Dame - lots of success on national tv versus crap opponents. Michigan is better when the Big 10 is good.

90% of sales is convincing someone to listen to you while you highlight your product and it seems no one does it better than Sneaky Pete. If WG makes that visit I would hate to be a Sparty fan. It would be great to see all of the ridiculous articles about State winning the in state recruiting battles blow up if WG pulls a RoJo.

I don't care if he stays with MSU. Sure, the meltdown on Spartan Tailgate would be hilarious if he decommitted, but it'll be even better beating him four years in a row. And besides, beating State is more fun when they're good.

As they say "sometimes when there is smoke, there is a fire." Doesn't Dantonio have some policy about commits not taking visits? I wonder if he enforces it on "star" players.
