First Michigan-Ohio State game day memory.

Just waiting for the game tomorrow and thinking back to the library of games in my mind. Sports were never watched in my home as a kid. My parents didn't like them. I happened to be over one of my relatives home, an older cousin who had a boyfriend stop over and he turned on football. He was really cool about it and explained to me what was happening on the field and I really got into it. I watched the whole game and it happened to be the 10-10 tie with Dennis Franklin as the QB. Cherry broken. That was my first game.

I want to say it was around 1967 or 68. I remember Ron Johnson was one of our running backs & Jim Otis was one of Ohio State’s. Seems the name Dennis Brown comes to mind as our QB. Or maybe Moorhead? I forgot. Rex Kern was their quarterback. Of course we got hammered in that game but it ignited in me a passion for M football that’s lasted a lifetime. Go Blue!

The Bo/Woody war is one of my earliest sports memories. It seems like we won more than we lost at that time.

The entire state of Michigan was behind us. It was truly a state of Michigan vs. state of Ohio event. I miss that a lot. Sparty fans are now Buckeye fans and don't give a damn about or even know the history of the whole Michigan/Ohio rivalry.

My first Michigan OSU game was the 1969 game when we upset the No. 1 ranked Buckeyes.  I was 10 years old and I remember the fans rushing the field and Jim Mandich celebrating.  I told my dad I wanted to go to Michigan when I was older and that is what followed.  My son recently graduated from the Ross school continuing the tradition and my niece and nephew are currently enrolled.  Go Blue!

I know i watched Michigan games before the 85 game, but Harbaugh to Kolesar is my earliest Ohio State memory. I grew up in Florida but had just come back from visiting all my family in michigan a month before the game.

I don't remember the year, but it was mid-70s, probably 1976 because Michigan won handily. I was 8 and that's when the color of my blood changed to Maize and Blue. I went outside after the game with a football and was Michigan beating Ohio State.

1st memory was Harbaugh to Kolesar.  I had been at osu games before that , but don’t have any vivid memories like I do of that play.

The best was Woodson punt return. I’ve never lost my shit over a game like I did on that play.

Another personal favorite was Biakabatuka running roughshod over the bucknuts. A thing of beauty.

My senior year was the year Harbaugh guaranteed a win against Ohio State. We went to Columbus for the game, and then to the Rose Bowl. Hard not to get sucked in after a season like that one.

Born in '52.

1969, first Bo season 24-12 upset of 16 point favorate, OSU, who had been No.1 in the country for the past 1-1/2 years. Attended the game with a HS teammate and his father, who was being recruited by Michigan. Our seats were on the 40 yard line 40 rows up on the east side of the stadium with OSU alums seated behind us.

Wow what a game! What drama! Unheralded players coming up huge. Fullback Garvy Craw converting all the 3rd and shorts, always by an extra yard, to keep drives alive. Three interceptions and big punt returns by DB Barry Pearson.

Shocked to see OSU alums leaving the game ........crying.

I was hooked!

Got accepted into UM Engineering school .........the following spring.
