I suppose you could look at this from another angle and respect all the effort put into making a case for the Robbie Hummel Eligilbility Endurance Cup, but then that might be giving some credence to what seems to be winning on a slightly warped interpretation of the rule from my understanding anyway.

Ed Davis is 23 according to his msu bio, not 26 like people above keep saying. That doesn't seem too bad.

It took Davis 5 plus years to get his undergraduate degree. What self-respecting graduate school from MSU would even accept him?

This is MSU we are talking about.

It took him awhile, but i'm sure he has a 3.8 and does all his own work.

Ed Davis is still in school? Seems like he's been there for six years!

I mean, at this point whatever. I won't bedgrudge a guy a chance to play another year, but it's how arbitrary it feels that bothers me. Maybe Davis was hurt for 2 years, maybe not. But there seems like enough evidence that he wasn't to justify the opposite decision, and yet nothing will come out about how they came to this decision. So at some point in the future, UM will need to apply for a 6th year for somebody, point to Davis's case, and be told "Nope" and there won't be any real consistency.

Mark Dantonio lie on an application? The next thing you're going to tell me is that he lets imprisoned players back on the field immediately to play against Michigan.......
