Got my acceptance email Friday for the CoE. I'm pumped about Michigan but I still have to figure out how I am going to pay for it.

I miss college far too much. Kinda hated every year people telling me to enjoy my time at michigan cause it's all downhill after, not entirely true but having no responsibilities and drinking and partying as much as possible certainly has its perks. enjoy ur time at the best university in the world!

True. Except in retrospect I realize that I kind of had more responsibility than I realized what with getting a degree and building lifelong relationships and all that.

I still remember the date in the header of the letter of acceptance. I received it a few days after that (perhaps the advantage of living in neighboring Saline) - it was the fall of my senior year of high school. My immediate reaction, when I opened it standing at the foot of the driveway on a breezy 40-degree day, was to literally run a victory lap around the cul-de-sac, then tell my parents. My mother, a fellow alum, decided that this called for a celebratory dinner, so we went to Cottage Inn.
Congratulations to the newest Wolverines.

I got deferred as well, and I have not been able to handle myself. I have the stats to get me in, however the competition of the applicant pool is ridiculous. If only they had interviews in the application process... then I'd be a shoe-in. I cannot imagine going anywhere else and would literally do anything for admittance. I love Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan SO much, but I also know that I cannot become a wal-mart wolverine. It is a very stressful time, please pray for me and hope the admissions representatives decide to let me in to the greatest university in the world.

and keep your eye on the prize. If you want it that badly, just keep working at it. Even if you don't get in now, if you've got the stats then you should be able to transfer in in a year or two. May not be the ideal thing for you, but it's not a bad outcome. Just keep working.

I did what any senior would do in that situation: I went upstairs to retrieve my instrument, and let The Victors (not "Hail to the Victors") rip joyously through the house.

I teared up and got goosebumps watching this video. I still live on campus, but its not the same as being a student anymore. GoBlue!

I still have my acceptance letter in my inbox. 10-22-09 t'was a great day.
I even got another acceptance letter when I transfered out of engineering into LS&A, but that one was a mistake. Doesn't matter, still kept it.

I just realized, I never actually read the email (from 5 years ago). Waited for the real thing in the mail. I wonder if it is still in my AOL mailbox, or if that email account even still exists...
