I was only 13 the last time this country had a true crisis so maybe I was more naive then, but I don’t recall people giving a flying flip about partisan politics for at least a few months after 9/11. I was hoping for at least that amidst Covid...I was way wrong.

9/11 was just so stunning as we watched unfold live on TV that it was almost impossible to put a partisan spin on it.

This doesn’t have the same “shock value” so it’s easy for people to ignore how it’s impacting everyone regardless of political affiliation.

Doesn't matter if you like or hate our president, I saw a commercial last nite ripping on him for handling the virus.    Might be me, but it seems kinda soon for that.   Kinda like a comedian making fun of the virus....a little too soon.  There will be plenty of time in Sept and Oct to discuss the handling of the situation.

Interesting take as he parades each day to pretend he gives one shit about the people dying. He goes on Fox to rip governors for asking too much. I would expect attacks and highlights of his ineptitude to continue. Justly. I was there too in 2001. I voted for Dubya and was proud of what he was in that moment. Democrats were too. Trump is a buffoon and is a poor real leader. Politics aside, it’s not even debatable.

The difference was that everyone who hated Bush had a new person or persons to hate.  The country banded together to fight against what was viewed as a common enemy.

In this case there is no person or persons to hate.  So those that already hated Trump just use this shitty situation as a reason to hate him more and more.  No matter how much he did or didn't do, any short comings from this awful situation were going to be painted on him by people who want him gone, especially in an election year.  Justified or not, that is reality.  People who support him are going to say he is doing everything he can.  People who don't are going to blame him.  Nothing short of finding the cure himself was going to change that.

Very cool watching those little guys run, jump and play. We just had to put our almost 14 year old Boston Terrier down last weekend. As sad as we are, we really enjoy seeing other people out and about with their dogs.

I hope they clean that place well after. Also kind of irresponsible since dogs can supposedly spread the virus.   I also know of at least one poster on this board that is very allergic to dogs and has annual passes to the aquarium.

MgoHillbilly - I am with you on this one.  I absolutely love animals, aquariums, and especially puppies.  But if you would have given those dogs a squeaky chew toy in the park, or just a person to play with, they would have been the same or happier.

The fish didn't give a shit about the puppies, or vice versa.  This was perhaps the most worthless video/show I have seen in a while - and that says a lot given that "90 Day Fiance" is still on the air.

More interesting/fun to see the videos of a dog and goat playing together, or a mother cat nursing puppies.  Some shit like that.

When you neg MgoHillbilly, feel free to neg me as well.

PR FOR THE HUMANE SOCIETY!!!! WHAT A TRAVESTY!!!! (Clutches pearl)

And no they’re not going to clean the place. They’re just going to let any filth remain forever because a frequently visited public place like the Georgia Aquarium doesn’t have any kind of staff of supplies who deal with issues of cleanliness.

1. I hope they clean the place well afterward, but apparently for different reasons. Puppies will pee and poop anywhere.

2. Re: virus, sure, if they've been in close contact with someone who has the virus. If not, no worries.

3. Allergies and season pass holders? Come on, man. The place is closed. It's not like they're not going to vacuum and clean the glass afterward. Also, the air filtration systems in places like this are ridiculously effective. That's just dumb.

You do realize the place is closed for weeks, if not months? The only way your friend is getting in there is if he breaks in.

I’m pretty sure they’re going to sanitize the fuck out of the place before it reopens. If your friend still has a reaction from any puppy dander after that, then he/she probably should probably just live in a plastic bubble because of how weak their immune system is.

Buzzkill here. Looks like a couple puppies running around, just as they could outside. They were looking at the camera, not the fish. The penguins wandering around the Shedd Aquarium were much better than this.

Sidenote: The Georgia Aquarium is awesome. And if certified, you can SCUBA dive in the tank with the whale sharks, which I have #humblebrag.

The full shutdown hasn’t even been a full week.  The incubation period is up to 14 days. I hope not many people think that because they stopped going places for a few days that it means they don’t already have it.  That’s silly

Wrong... people learning how to fuckin wash their hands, because they didn't know how until our President told them how!
