The "All Is Not Lost: Winovich Staying/MBB Squad Might Be Very Good" Posbang Thread

Submitted by LKLIII on

I know we already had a basketball victory over Iowa posbang thread last night, but this Winovich thing deserves one too I think.

Two good pieces of news within 24 hours should be a reminder that all is not lost with this great university's athletic endeavours.

Things are going to be just fine.

Bring on 2018!

I'm all for getting excited about 2018, but let's not forget that Iowa was 9-6 with losses to South Dakota State and Louisiana among others. Currently sitting tied for 12th in the B1G.

Sure, the B1G is having a down year in regards to basketball, but it's still the B1G, and Iowa is still a team in one of the major five conferences.  Any road win in the B1G should be greeted with optimism.

UM has 15 games remaining.  Looking at those 15 games, 8-7 should be the floor.  9-6 or 10-5 are both quite attainable.  UM finishes its final 15 games at 9-6, UM finishes the season at 22-9, a virtual lock for 3rd in the B1G and a virtual lock for making the NCAA tourney.

I like this UM bball team.  Its not the best team Beilein has fielded at UM, but its definitely a tourney-team.

This Posbang has nothing to do with not understading the MGOBLOG culture or waiting to beat MSU/OSU in football.

Last year (and for quite some time now) fiercely loyal Michigan fans passed away waiting for that to happen.  We can't let another year slip by and keep losing great fans like Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Tom Petty, Monty Hall, Bernie Casey, Jerry Lewis, Dick Gregory, Chuck Barris, Don Hockey Puck Rickles, Jay Thomas, Mary Tyler Moore, Mel Tillis, Hugh Hefner, Della Reese, Glen Campbell, Malcolm Young, Lil Peep, Bill Paxton, Judge Wapner, George Steele, Sam Shepard, Charlie Murphy, Joe Bologna, Stephen "Flounder" Furst, Roger Smith, Sir Roger Moore, Mary Tyler Moore Again, Gregg Allman, Big Black Boykin, Jonathon Demme, Dina Merrill, William Peter Blatty, John Hurt, Gomer and Jim Nabors, Rose Marie, Robert Knight, Richard Hatch and Holy Batshit!!!--Adam West!

We need to reward these great MICHIGAN FANS and several other MICHIGAN FANS who died this year around the world waiting to beat MSU/OSU in a football game.

We need to bring back HAPPY DAYS!!!

(We will miss you Erin Moran.....)

I must admit... years of "waiting for next year" is tiresome.  My 2 boys have yet to experience Michigan football as I remember it, and as I try and tell em about the "good ol' days", I can see the excitement in their faces!  Hopefully they will see what I'm talkin bout sooner rather than later.  However, what I have come to expect, is Coach B having the boys ready to go by March.  I love the looks of this team already, and next yrs class only adds to the excitement.  I gotta think Coach Harbaugh will get things together.  Like we all know... he's it!

Go Blue!

*long-time lurker... finally took the plunge.

And Beilein and the boys look like they are set up for 2-3 years in the Top third of the B1G with a few trips to the Sweet 16, with upside from there.  Bang me!

No where to go but up in football. Improvement on the offense is on the way. Staff changes may breath some life and excitement back into the offense. Looking forward to it. Until then, I will enjoy watching the basketball team continue to improve.
