Adam Fantilli Interview on Jeff Marek Show
Hobey Baker winner and top prospect ahead of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, Adam Fantilli takes a guest spot on Jeff's show. He discusses some of the memorable coaches that helped him get to this level, winning the Gold Medal at the World Juniors, his friendship with Connor Bedard, his readiness to play in the NHL.
I'd imagine the last point is the one people will want to listen in for. I won't spoil it, but you'd have heard it elsewhere if he announced he was leaving ASAP.
This is a great interview - and Jeff is pretty much a daily listen for yours truly.

Have a Go Blue day.
Holy Christ, those eyes!!!
Thanks for the links, I'll have to remember to listen later if I can remember. Can't listen (or watch videos) while at work... Firewall issues, not because of actual work or anything dumb like that.

I won't spoil it
I'm in class and studying for finals and don't have time to listen... so can someone spoil it? We need a spoiler tag on this board lol.

Yeah, I love podcasts but hate podcast interviews. So please spoil... or just add the minute mark where the spoiler starts.

Spoiler....
No huge revelations, he didn't tip his hand either way.
Those optimistic about his return to UM would point out how quickly he talked about the NHL being a man's league and the 80+ game schedule, as well as how much he's enjoyed playing with his brother.
Those pessimistic about his return would point out how he talked about how confident he is about his game and how the NHL, as the best league in the world, is everyone's dream.
He is a poised guy to interview and I enjoyed listening to him. It's worth following the link, I'd say. Congrats on the Hobey, Adam!

Here’s the thing… he hasn’t been drafted yet. The decision on where he plays next season will be made jointly by both Adam Fantilli, and the organization that drafts him. He can’t tip his hand because the cards haven’t been dealt yet

I agree. Would have added that to my post, but it was long enough already. With the NHL draft in late-June, it's gonna be a long wait....

Yep. If he gets drafted by a team that doesn't need him right away, I could see him playing with Luca another year and collecting some nice NIL money. But if he's drafted at #2 and the team says we want you, he'll be gone. I'd very much doubt he would insist on a 2nd year of college. The guys like Power and Beniers functionally missed out on their one season because of covid. Fantilli did not

This is my take as well, though for sure the team isn't going to have him stay if he is unhappy here or if they think it would limit his development. The best way to improve is to be on the ice against the best competition. If I were a rich alum... I'd offer to add another sheet of ice to Yost. Lindenwood has 4 sheets (but they use the Blue's training facility (as I recall reading up on them this year.)
I’m not really sure what you’re getting at with adding another sheet of ice to Yost though. Outside of it not making any sense from an available space standpoint, I don’t see how that ties into this topic. Is that just a random sidebar?

TY, about what I would have guessed without him even knowing who he's drafted by yet. But was secretly hoping he'd say he loves playing with his brother and would prefer to stay another year.
