4th Down Trickery?
Since Foricer has shown himself to be an able punter could we see Michigan run some trick plays on forth down? I'd imagine the Hagerup has a better leg but Forcier could be used from midfield on or something like that. If the punter can actually throw and/or run it could defintely catch the punt coverage team off guard. Foricer needs to channel his inner Tom Harmon.
GO BLUE!
Yes we could.
We had a great thread about this two weeks ago. I called it Punter Ninja, as Tate is perfect for it:

Go Blue!
True - but assuming that Hagerup is the real deal, once any team saw Forcier on the field on 4th down, they would expect a fake.
What I like about your idea is that we're not always going to send Hagerup out there, so as to induce uncertainty.....
Mixed strategies anyone?
That is what I meant to convey. Always go to Forcier inside midfield and the punt defense can't cheat either way.
i don't know our roster for shit. is foricer the 2 deep or 3 deep for punting?
Forcier is listed as the second punter.
I tried to pos you a few extra times...well played sir.
when I saw the thread on who will be the holder for FG's. I only know the 2 deep on that one.
I was thinking this myself. It would be fantastic if Forcier would routinely be out on 4th downs. It would force the defense to split itself over the possible punt or the possible fake every time.
Since we have Denard, we will never punt anyway!!
Let's not forget that depth chart is not made by the coaches.
Wasn't tate involved in some sort of punts last season where they faked like they were going to go for but he punted...i think they should continue to look at that as an option, just another thing an opponent would have to worry about!
Forcier took a few snaps last season and did a rugby punt when the opposing team was expecting a 4th down attempt multiple times. It was very effective and I imagine it will definitely be utilized this season.
"I'd imagine the Hagerup has a better leg"
whoa, slow down one second chief. The nation's top punter with a better leg then our QB? what are you smoking?
I had never heard the word trickeration until the Tenn kick return. I think everyone who has used it since is just copying some sportcenter anchor who used the wrong word. Also, that top ten is missing some key plays. Where is the fake field goal from necessary Roughness or the option reverse from Remember the Titans? The final play from Little Giants and the fake field goal from the Replacements should get some consideration as well.
that went for a TD @Minnesota in 2003?
JN "raced" untouched into the endzone, leaving the Minny players on the other side of the field, well, on the other side of the field.
the correct term was "trickeration"?
We should do different things with him on fourth down.
Hold on a minute folks. Clearly you are not big time successful coaches. There are two things that never work ever ever ever in the football world. You don't split time between quarterbacks and... you don't split time between punters. How is a punter supposed to get in a rhythm!?! Are you people insane!?!
/sarcasm
But really, if my belief is correct and we maybe punt the ball once a game and defeat most teams 96-0 or so, maybe 96-77, somewhere around that area, then we don't really need a punter. Therefore all of this is hogwash.
/second sarcasm
I bet Denard starts at punter
/third sarcasm
burned into my brain, so I hope not.
against faking punts well inside your own territory when momentum is already swinging in your opponent's favor?
You would have hated the end of the WVU-Georgia Sugar Bowl a few years back.
Just the jersey. Having been once donned by the Space Emperor, almost surely there will be some residual magic left in it.
